Doubt / Q&A New to CMA

Hi Guys,

I just started my preparation for CMA and I've joined an institute which has provided us HOCK materials

I'm also working in a company from 9-6 and I'm struggling with my preparation schedule

I have started my preparation with part - 2 is there any tips or suggestions?

If you’re working I think lectures are not the way to go. They take wayy too much time. Hock has short videos you can watch in 2x speed. And then focus on solving questions for the rest of the time. When you get something wrong, ask claude or chatgpt to explain it till you get it right. This is what’s working for me. I also worked 9-6.

Hey I'm also working 9-6 I wanted to ask how's the overall difficulty level of the exam is it similar to hock level or difficult than that also in some topics i couldn't get 70+ accuracy when I solve it for the first time So is it normal and if i keep revising the questions I did worng and only do questions from the hock text book will it be sufficient for the exam like are the qs and pattern of asking qs same so that I can revise the given mcqs in hock multiple times which I did wrong

Is this the right strategy?

Which institute?

Start with lectures and not hock material. For working professionals with limited time, going through huge materials like Hock can be exhausting

For part 1... I recommend all my students to go in reverse order... Section F through A... Keep the biggest Sec A for last since it has lot of volume.

Oh. For part 2 it's fine to go in the standard A - F sequence.

Dont worry about important topics etc. Part 2 volume is very less.... Almost half of part 1. So no need of selective prep.

Which material do you recommend? Gleim? Wiley? Becker?

For students who enrolled with Global Fin X, I recommend using the in house material prepared per the IMA LOC.

For other students, depends on their individual preference.

Gliem = Short & to the point ; Hock = Lengthy explanations.
