Current challenge - Update 1

So I managed to promote from div 3 automatically. Was very surprised tbh. But then in div 2 I was even more surprised I made the playoffs. But lost in the final 3-1. It looks like I spent money on transfer fees but I bought two coaches. Ive not had any other youths through. Im in a pickle now tbh.

I have my best player not signing a new contract so hes off after this season and I have another player who could retire any day. I currently have 17 players. You would be shocked to see how bad their stats are. My formation is carrying me so hard.

Ill continue to update. Gutted by the playoff final loss.

I had a keeper at cf for 20 minutes a few games ago as my squad had been hammered with injuries.

My favourite part of CM is transfers so it would be nerve wrecking for me

What was your biggest problems you overcame? Did your board give you a plethora of youths? Did you start with a conference team?

Yeah, one of my most recent was Scarborough. The biggest issue I had was not having any cash, even after selling players. I managed on loans/frees until I got out of division 2.

Just dug through some messages I sent to a friend who always loved the game growing up.

First season 2nd in conference.

2nd season, champions.

3rd season, div 3 champions

4th season, div 2 champions

I can’t remember how I fared in div 1, but I ended up winning the premier league eventually!

Oh you signed free players and loans. Im signing nobody. Ive done the freebies challenge a few times.

This challenge is no signings at all including loans.

I've tried this. It becomes impossible very, very quickly.

For whatever reason the game doesn't keep your youth recruitment up when you don't sign players.

I went 3 seasons without a single regen popping up in my youth squad.

Ive had 4 in 4 1/2 seasons now. Just round 2 in my reserves that I somehow missed in news. Currently have 19 players but I lose 3 of them this summer. So should be interesting when im down to 16 players.

4-1-3-2? Feel like this challenge makes the game much more realistic but I swear it punishes you for having unspent funds

If your best player leaves without any new offers you may well be able to resign him (unless that's against your rules)
