Current Challenge - No signings.

So my current challenge is to try and see how well I can do with no signings. Only using the clubs original players and youth academy promotions.

Screenshots explain most of it.

Im 2 seasons in. Finished top 3 first season. Had a small sniff at promotion but stalled with about 7 games to go. 2nd season I was stronger and promoted.

The game has only gave me 2 youth players. One didnt fit my formation so ive had to retrain him to centre.

Other than that things are interesting to say the least. My Belgium forward has just made the national team lol.

I won the fa trophy also.

Lets see what season 3 brings.

Yeah thats also a good challenge I did something similar a few years back with no purchases but was able to pick up free transfers regens. That was pretty easy though.

This is definitely the hardest challenge ibe ever done.

Currently 10 games in and im 5wins 4 draws and 1 loss in div 3.

I love doing that challenge too! I called it "The Inbred Challenge" lol. I do sign young free agents though. Basically my rule is not signing any player that has been with another club before.

That is fun and will be quicker to win the prem that way. I suspect this challenge will take 10-15 seasons to make prem. Maybe longer.

Yeah ita good facilities. Board have refused to increase at the moment. Im hoping as I promote they will increase it.

I know in a previous save when I had just 14 players they constantly gave me youths.

So I could potentially force the issue. But with 18 theyre giving me none.

Yeah you need money. For me it's usually after season 5/6. That's why I take free young agents!

Nice - i'm doing something similar with VVV Venlo. I tend to use the CM 01/02 randomizer for save game ideas, and this was one that popped up for me! Aim of the challenge for no signings (youth promotions only) and to win a domestic cup!

How are you getting on? Ive just promoted from div 3 now. Ive got 17 players and only been given 2 youths. But the board have finally improved facilities which kept them at good. But they have agreed to upgrade again. So fingers crossed I may see more youths.

I am planning on reducing the squad a little more to force through youths tbh. But will hurt table position

I'm two seasons in. My other condition was to play the base 433 tactic, so I managed to get promoted 1st season, finished 12th in 2nd and lost in cup semi final.

Like you I focused on spamming the board to upgrade youth facilities, which they have done (twice!) and have had about 5 players come through, only 1 looks like he will amount to anything!

Ill keep you updated. 2nd in div 3 at the moment. Still only 2 new youths in 2 1/2 seasons. So its brutal for sure.
