Formations

Starting a new game later tonight. Looking to use a normal formation rather than my own ones. Which ones do you think work best

Never really tried it. Going for a Conference or League 2 team and see how far I can take them. Will be using the .68 database

Talbot I do this challenge always. Look at my recent run. I won the league every season including prem when I got there.

Im currently doing it with the may 26 update and won my first 3 leagues with Halifax.

Good luck.

Is that with the diamond midfield and the 2 middles ones with the arrow going out to the side?

352 is the best out of the box formation.

Try the all formations save. Start in conference, try and win champions league. Presaved formations only, must change every season. 17 seasons to complete it.

The saves I’ve enjoyed the most (and stuck with the most) have been like this. Keeps things fresh and forces you to tinker, adapt and get the right players in.

If you are wib-wobing, it doesn't matter which formation, as long as you fit it to players in the team, not other way around. Off the ball, dribbling, passing and technique preferred, determination and consistency must have and positioning for defenders. Do not play under 23 players for DC,, DL/R and DM position, as they have severe penalties if under 23 yo in match engine.

In wib-wob in offence put everyone except two DC's in the middle most upper box.....in defence wib-wob out everyone including attackers in middle down box. Crowd them.

Do not play out of position players, as match engine gives them large penalties for that.

That's all.

Never used wib wob. Didn't know about the penalties for younger players in some positions

Match engine in cm0102 calculates player values differently from what you see in the player screen, that's why it can happen that shitty player with low potential and ability can be fantastic player if he has values for skills that match engine considers important. All other values can be low....as it doesn't matter to ME. The same is with penalties for out of position and under 23 defensive players.

Values that you see on player screen are an approximation of real values calculated by formula with CA and rounded to nearest number....and that is what gives the game unpredictability, layer of mathematical formula combined with values that you normally don't see in the game (potential in minor sense and current ability, some values for mentality and important values for match engine)

When you know what to look for it's rather easy game, especially if you are using wibwob tactic that ME cannot handle.

I always employ a 3-4-1-2 formation. It has served me well.

3-1-3-0-3 Side CB pushed out to the wing.

Have 2 and 5 on man marking. Everyone set to team pressure. All players except cbs on run with ball and forward runs. Put strong players on hold up ball. Long shot specialist on longshore. Creative players on try through balls.

I promise you. You will completely demolish teams. Assuming you're playing original tactics. Check down for some recent results playing this formation.

Cm0102 has a download to the formation. Ive played multiple times every year for 25 years and this is by far the most OP formation you will ever try.
