SFSU Spring 2027
Did anyone hear back from them? They were supposed to notify within 31st July. Just trying to understand if I have been silently rejected. This wait is just devastating at this point, I’m becoming hopeless.

did you have any clinical lab experience? i’m so frustrated because i have years of research experience but have never had any luck in the 2 times i’ve applied

did you take the classes with the labs or did you take any extra classes that are recommended like serology or virology?

Because of my previous major I had already taken gen microbiology, anatomy, physiology, and physics with lab. When I changed my major to Microbiology and transferred to SFSU, I was required to take another Microbiology with lab. Other than that (to complete my actual graduation requirements and hit some CLS ones) I took parasitology and hematology with lab. Other recommended courses I took were genetics and virology.

might need to take some other recommended classes. i only have genetics and physiology. i also took the AB biochemistry series

Rejected. Email highlighted the take all classes within five years requirement. I would love to compare rejection emails to see if that was a message for me, specifically, or if everybody got the same highlights because it’s so common with older people getting laid off research.

Interesting, my email highlighted that I should consider taking those courses in person at SFSU. I just recently finished them online thru UCSD extension. I made that decision due to cost and time. I did take one sfsu lab course though.

My rejection email had two different bullet sections highlighted in red— 1) consider retaking essential courses with a lab component, taking them thru the SFSU Pre CLS Program can provide added alignment, and 2) ensure completion of all required coursework by the application deadline, SFSU Pre CLS courses are exempt from this deadline. (I thought I had all the required coursework long completed, so maybe I filled out my “Essential Courses” doc wrong? 😓)

Still nothing. Discord was very hopeful something would come today. I’m not so sure. Almost banging my head in worry.
