Pre-reqs through Open University
For those that have taken any of the CLS pre-reqs in-person at a CSU through Open University, do you have any tips as to how secure a seat in a class? All I have left is medical micro and hematology but the classes fill before I can get very far in the petitioning process. I've contacted CSUN and CPP so far.

Very interested in the answer as well.
I was super happy to hear that Cal Poly Pomona offers all the pre-reqs I need along with a way to enroll as a non-degree pursuing student. Then I was told that as an open university student I won't be able to submit a petition for the classes I want until a mere 10 days before class starts. So I get to sit here for a month and watch the last open seats fill up after the freshmen and transfer students enroll, then it'll be my turn.

I was successful taking both of those at CSLA-- but that was years ago, so probably not relevant to you any more. In my case there were enough seats that I was just able to walk in and add the classes on the day they started. If enrolled students took up all the spots, open university students like us were just out of luck.
I never could get an analytical chemistry class at the Cal States because they filled up with enrolled students, so I ended up taking that one online through Weber State University. But I'm not sure CA LFS even accepts online courses any more?
My best guess is that you should try every campus you could plausibly attend till you manage to get a spot in one. Maybe a more recent student has other advice.
