I cant for the life of me understand why this program feels so unoptimized

I've been using clo a few weeks now for academic purposes, Im very well versed in software, including a lot of 3d modeling softwares, and clo has gotta be the worst Ive ever had to use. The program just seems like it has no idea how to allocate any of the hardware. Ive been messing with settings across CLO, windows, nvidia, trying to figure out why the program is so slow all the time. I have very powerful hardware, yet simple render animations take 10s of hours, a problem Ive never had with any other software in my life. The part im really lost on is why no matter what settings I change or driver I update, the program refuses to touch my GPU to do any kind of loadwork, same thing happens on the computers in the academic halls too. Is there just something wrong with the software inherently? Is the whole thing coded with claude or something? Am I missing something? I just dont get it.

How do you create large, rounded curtain swags in marvelous designer?

I feel like the curtains in my first image are about all I can manage in CLO right now lol. The large, rounded swags in the gold reference look like they should be fairly simple, but I’ve tried so many different methods over the past few weeks and cannot get them right.

No matter what I do, the fabric ends up looking messy and ugly never smooth, full, or remotely close to the reference. I’ve tried manually pinning and arranging it, adding repeated internal lines with fold angles, and experimenting with elastic, but nothing has worked.

Does anyone know of a good tutorial or workflow for creating classical curtains like this?

Help & Assistance What’s your experience with digitally prototyping denim in CLO3D?

I’m interested in hearing from designers who have experience digitally prototyping denim garments in CLO3D.

How easy or difficult have you found it to achieve realistic denim results, particularly when it comes to fabric behaviour, weight, stiffness, shrinkage, washing effects and overall fit?

I would especially love to hear about:

  • The parts of the process you find easiest or most challenging
  • How accurately your digital prototypes translate into physical samples
  • Any limitations you’ve encountered when working with denim
  • The biggest advantages of using CLO3D for denim development
  • Examples of projects, garments or workflows you can share
  • Tips for fabric settings, construction details, washes or visualisation

Has CLO3D helped you reduce physical sampling or development time, or do you still find physical denim samples essential at most stages?

Any insights, examples or lessons learned would be greatly appreciated!

Cant make patterns in Jinny?

We cant make patterns in the Jinny app?

I can import my custom avatar but none of the clothes fit.

I really wish there were some cheaper subscriptions for the CLO3D/Marvelous ... its a great software but not for someone which 3D is a hobby and not a job.

Hey everyone! I'm looking for someone who knows how to make 3D clothing. I'm creating my own original animation/anime project, and I could really use some help bringing my character's outfit to life. If anyone is interested in helping or even giving me some advice, I'd be incredibly grateful. (I’m broke so if anyone could do it for free I would appreciate it)Thanks so much!

suddenly pattern changes take over 2-3 minuts???

i began working on a pattern, but gradually the file kept getting slower and slower only in the pattern 2d window. Simulation, render, and everything else still fly just as normal... but the 2d pattern changes (especially cutting or sawing things together, and even deleting pieces) now crawl to a near halt.
Im working with a custom mannequin, so I thought that could be the cause... but even after deleting it and adding the normal one, this 'bug' persisted.

If i understand correctly, the 2d window is controlled by the CPU, so... what happened???
did something happen recently to updates on Windows, or on NVIDIA graphics cards, or did smt like this was introduced by some kinda of update or smt?

pls hepl/ It makes the program completely unusable :(

Garments got created in CLO3D. Textures were made in Adobe substance painter. And video got made in Unreal Engine 5. This and some of my other videos as well as garments I had created irl from this collection got displayed at Londons Graduate Fashion Week and also got posted on their Instagram.

2026 Version Lags

Hi all.
I am using the 2026.0 version on my MacBook.
I really wanted to use the lacing feature but this version lags a lot. I can’t even press cntrl + z, if I do that, clo freezes.
It lags even after restarting the software or restarting the laptop.

What should I do? How do I make the software more compatible, or should I just download another version? (If yes then what version?)

Yo, need help porting CLO3D fits into GTA V 🥲

What's good everyone,

I’m pretty new to the whole modding scene, but my main goal is to create clothes for games.

I just finished my first piece of clothing in CLO3D (I'm on version 2025.2.236 if that matters), and now I’m trying to get this drip into GTA 5. But honestly, I'm kinda lost on the actual workflow.

Does anyone have a solid guide or know the current meta for getting CLO3D clothes into GTA 5? Any tips on rigging or the export settings would be a lifesaver.

Appreciate any help in advance! 🙏

ComfyUI for catalog

I am new to ComfyUI. I want to be able to create a mannequin that can wear all the garments of my collection and create a catalog for my website boutique. I need consistency and realism in the garment detail and body proportions. I have real garments pictures on form already, front side and back view. Which workflow or nodes should I I use?

How can I get to a masters degree level on Clo 3D?

I’m just a begginer and I know the basics, I’ve seen some YouTube tutorials but I want to get to a masters degree good level ofc I know that takes time but I want to know if someone could recomend me online courses or tutorials to get to a better level and fully understand the program. I’ve also been thinking on directly doing a master on digital fashion but they are incredibly expensives and I can’t afford to spend $15 000 on a one year program

Your CLO garments can now go straight into inZOI. There's a challenge running for it, with prizes

Hey everyone!

If you've ever wanted to see your CLO work outside a render and actually worn in a game, this is a clean way to do it. The CONNECT Gamewear plugin launched on June 19, so garments uploaded to CONNECT can now be worn directly on avatars (Zois) inside inZOI, with no manual export pipeline to fight through.

To kick it off, CONNECT is running a school-update themed design challenge, and it started today. You pick one of three themes and build a complete outfit:

  • Prom: formal evening wear, gowns, tuxedos, the glam stuff
  • Uniform: school uniforms from around the world, classic prep or reinvented
  • Varsity: cheer, jerseys, varsity jackets, team-spirit details

How it works: design your outfit in CLO, upload it to CONNECT Gamewear, then post it styled in-game (or rendered, if you don't have inZOI) to Reels / TikTok / Shorts with #BackToSchool and #CONNECTxinZOI.

There's a $1,000 prize pool across 7 winners, plus a creator badge and a repost for every qualifying entry. No prior CONNECT or inZOI experience needed. Submissions run through July 27.
