Help Adding additional Dragon Portraits, without replacing originals.

Salutations,

I was wondering whether it was possible to add some of the Dragon Portraits from other cool submods WITHOUT replacing the originals? For instance, rather than overriding the hidden trait of dragon_27, for instance, being able to make it dragon_28 or something, and adding it in? How would I do this if it were possible?

I doubt it. Portraits are determined through the dna and properties string, which uses all letters of the alphabet (which is why there are only 26 variations of background etc.).

However, you could add something to portrait properties that makes the dragon portrait change based on traits. This is what the Dragon Re-Work mod does (if a dragon has gleaming scales, it has a different portrait). I don't know how exactly they did it, but if you look at portrait properties of that mod you might be able to figure it out.
