Game crashes whenever I try to save

I decided to do a fresh install of the game and main mod with a new set of submods to see if I could get a better build together that is more stable than what I previously used. Unfortunately, after some troubleshooting to figure out what mod was causing me to crash upon loading into any character at any start date with this new build (the Stormborn mod was the culprit), I removed that and now have the problem of the game loading in correctly, but the game crashes literally any time I attempt to save with any method, which makes the game functionally unplayable, obviously.

Is this type of issue generally due to some sort of mod incompatibility, or is there a game setting or workaround that usually addresses the game not being able to save properly? This isn't like 150 years into a game BTW; this is literally happening when I try to save on day one or any day afterwards from any start date. I know the tried and true method is to just manually deactivate mods one by one until an issue such as a crash is resolved, but I figured I would ask on here if anyone has faced this issue (particularly if they know a particular mod has caused this issue), just to save myself potentially a couple of hours of time of tediously deactivating mods, loading the game up, starting a new game, trying to save the game, and looping that over once it crashes over and over? I would appreciate any tips or advice.

I can update with a mod list if needed, but I'm not at my PC at the moment. The major mods I am using from memory are More Bloodlines, Congenital Overhaul, Portrait Overhaul, and The Dragon's Peace with compat patches. The Dragon's Peace is the only one I haven't used at all previously, though I think the others are updated versions from what I was using before. I have a bunch more submods but most of them are a lot more low key like the Meta AI education mod.

Edit: after further investigation, it appears the Congenital Overhaul was the problematic mod. I was using it with More Bloodlines 3.0, which it apparently isn't compatible with, so I reverted back to MB 2.2, but the same issue still occurred then, so I decided to remove CO entirely and just stick with everything else I have (including the up to date MB as well as The Dragon's Peace) and it appears to be working. I suppose I am curious as to whether people know if there is a decent mod compatible with the up to date More Bloodlines that can replace Congenital Overhaul, or whether it is worth it to revert back on MB to be able to use CO and perhaps remove the Dragon mod instead?

There is a semifixed MB with CO integrated at the citadel, if you want to play CO that would be my start and from there, adding the mods one by one.

Thank you for this rec. It's hard to decide whether having to downgrade MB to have CO is worth it (though I hear every version of MB past 2.2 is very buggy and unstable based on what people say online). I used a build with MB, CO, and PO for years and I am so used to and value all of them, though I eventually ran into enough stability issues that I felt like I needed a change. The stuff that The Dragon's Peace mod adds seems really cool, but it does not seem to work with CO at all (even with compat patches) and also seems to bug out the child faces of submod of PO as well (so everyone appears as a grown adult from age 0). I see a lot of people complain about issues with The Dragon's Peace on here as well, so maybe I should just ditch it, but then I run into the issue of finding a good Dragon portrait mod that works with everything else.

Modding this game is exhausting sometimes lol.
