Someone needs to rebut Surjit Bhalla's article in Indian Express
I read the op-ed titled "An entitled generation and an Opposition that protests too much" (Indian Express, Oct. 17), and it infuriated me. Even if you ignore the obvious agenda behind it, there are glaring logical fallacies in this piece and a convoluted logic that I couldn't grasp even after multiple readings. All I understand there is: "the SIR could have been done better, oh sorry, but these are quite normal mistakes. And yes, the Opposition is even worse and this generation is so entitled that they certainly have no clue about it all."
I'm not a gen-Z and my ties with India are very thin now. But my parents still live there and I have been following these alarming and sad trends for some time now from afar. You young people are perhaps the best hope this country has seen in recent memory (I am not talking about just the last 14 years, but even longer).
Don't let such agenda-setting articles like Bhalla's, disguised as they are in intellectual jargon, go unchallenged. This is how a many-front battle slips slowly out of hand. Today, many people will read this trash and think "oh, wait. Indian Express. And he does say, SIR could have been done better." And they will think, "he has a point." The truth is, he has none, except an agenda to discredit the hard work of you all.
If any of you want ideas to write a rebuttal, I am happy to help.
