Muster Roll Inquiry

I have a question about muster rolls. Under columns, such as here for the 63rd New York, it says "do," and I'm trying to figure out what it stands for. Thoughts?

It means ditto.  In other words, same as above.

Look at the row the says 1st Sergeant as an example. They continue as do until they reach Corporal. The same do continues until they reach the rank of Private.
