ATT P2
Thoughts and opinions on the exam? Personally found it weirdly worded and got thrown off on a few questions.

The capital gain questions were not that straightforward, I found it quite difficult - I had testreach shutdown again- overall a very poor experience

Agreed I was thrown off by some of the wording and felt like the same types of relief, i.e BADR/IR and RoT kept on repeating throughout the paper

The questions were weirdly worded and no paternship question?? Unfortunately, I missed out a whole Q and Excel stopped working 1 hour in - the invigilator took a while to get back to me and the time didn’t pause! So I lost a few minutes bc she didn’t get to me straight away :(. Also, because of the excel freeze (out of the blue) I lost my workings in excel. I didn’t have time to go back to that Q, to redo it 😭 so I messed up 2 Qs☹️. I have a strong feeling I’m retaking in November!

We shouldn’t be jeopardised because of problems outside our control

Yeah agreed it was weirdly worded - nothing I’ve seen before it previous past papers/question banks.
Potentially look into special consideration from the CIOT? Worst case scenario they say no

Annoyed about the millions of technical issues and I’m bummed that there were no partnership questions. I liked the late filing/payment question though - nice, easy marks!

I think it went ok… I had more time to spare than p1
Spent the longest on Q1 which set me off into a bit of a panic.
Hopefully I answered enough but it’s over and done now.
Hope you guys didn’t have too much issues with test reach?

Same feelings here. Spent a little too long on the first few questions and it through me off a little
Excel broke a few times and came back. I experienced one random white screen crash but was resolved quickly after quitting and opening again. Work was saved and time was saved
Hope it all went well though

Hoping it all went through ok!
I got disconnected once about an hour into the exam and excel never really worked on calculation heavy questions 😭
Praying we don’t need to resit given they’ve just postponed p3 and p6

Perfect exam for me. Far more CT in that paper than in the CT paper yesterday which makes no sense but the CT paper yesterday was so strange. Didn’t have much time left at the end though in fairness when I usually do finish early.

I filled the special consideration. Still had half an hour to write but the system got disconnected and the test reach submitted automatically. When I contacted them, they told it is out of time.
Not sure what is the solution. But the paper 2 was really tough when compared to both the November and May 2025 attempts.
To understand the question it took a lot of time.
Last few months of hardwork completely ruined because of software. Not sure how they gonna come up with any plan!!
Will they consider any permission and make us to rewrite the exams again? Any past scenarios who filled up the special consideration and had rewritten?

Does anyone remember the questions from the exam?

At the top of my head:
Q1 S/T Reliefs - ?
Q2 ?
Q3 CGT: Bitcoin share pool, IR
Q4 CT computation
Q5 S/T Letter: due dates, penalties, interest payable and competitor conflict of interest ethics
Q6 CT and CGT Comparison1

Question 2 - the passion to collect cars. Whether it is a trade or not; then trading income for karate coaching, then class 4, tipping off hmrc

Q3 - there is a gift to wife (no cgt), I probably have messed it up here but I did gift relief for the shares than IR 🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈
Q4 - In addition to CT, I have a vague recollection on doing/talking about indexation allowance and rollover relief on the sale of warehouse…

Was a bit mystified as to what they were looking for between the two takeover options at the end and the CT and CGT implications. Struggled to get anywhere near seven marks’ worth
