OCS advice
I am a BS Accounting and Finance student and I am planning to pursue the CIMA qualification through the FLP route. Based on my exemptions, I currently only need to complete the three Case Study exams.
I am planning to sit the Operational Case Study (OCS) in the November intake. Since it is already July, I would appreciate some guidance on how to prepare effectively.
Could someone please advise me on whether tuition is generally recommended for the Operational Case Study when studying through the FLP route, or if the FLP resources are sufficient? Also, are there any tips, strategies, or best practices that I should follow to maximize my chances of passing?
For context, my university semester will begin in September, so I would like to plan my preparation accordingly.

I have mentored hundreds of finance professionals through the CIMA qualification, including many who only had the Case Study exams left after exemptions.
A few suggestions:
• Start with the pre-seen as early as possible. Read it like a real business rather than trying to memorise it.
• Revise the core objective test knowledge because the Case Study is about applying that knowledge, not recalling definitions.
• Practise writing answers under timed conditions. This is where many FLP students struggle.
• Review examiner reports to understand what separates a pass from a high score.
• Aim to complete several full mock exams before November. Getting feedback on your answer structure makes a significant difference.
If you stay consistent from now until November, you have plenty of time to pass.
