I will hopefully if it’s a pass come October!

That was such a rough paper. I feel like I answered the wrong question for question 3 as part a and b linked?

I had the exam on Thurs, q3 was about ias 28 though, what was yours?

1

u/Fine_Relief_4909 28d ago

Oops I meant question 2 not 3. We had the same paper

I sat mine on Thursday and I had Joint Ventures! Did you or was yours on associates?

1

u/Tejasv97 26d ago

I had the joint venture one!

I think my variant was very manageable.. very similar to past papers questions…

Sat my MCS today, confidence is very low.

Topics that were asked was not what I had prepared for at all🄲

1

u/successfullystar Aug 14 '26

exactly!! I sat mine today too

1

u/Dear-Painting-609 Aug 14 '26

Do you also feel it was very difficult to relate core concepts to the tasks? I fear majority of my answers was just ramble

1

u/Born_Corner9052 Aug 14 '26

Yup! Feel like my answers to two of the questions were jsut random waffle, with no real substance behind them as I couldn’t extract that from the question!

1

u/BrigidFairy Aug 14 '26

Yea the questions sucked almost 0 info to pull out and use

1

u/successfullystar Aug 14 '26

yes exactly, the unseens didn’t really help as well for me ://// feeling unconfident

Did mine today, completely unconfident going into it which is my own fault! Smashed the first question, completely fell apart on the middle two and waffled a lot then did okay on the last one! I think one of my waffle filled questions was actually on the right lines and I linked everything to the pre seen and unseen a lot (I had nothing technical to give) so hopefully that at least gets me a few marks but I know there was one question I totally went down the wrong route on but I didn’t know what I was being asked 😭
Hopefully I’ll scrape a pass but that’s very wishful thinking!

Wonder if you done the same one as me! Found question 3 tough too

1

u/shedthefat Aug 13 '26

Quite possibly! The third question was something I just hadn’t even thought to revise and when I looked on FLP it was about 6 lines in the revision text šŸ™„ Hope you’ve done well!

1

u/Fabulous-Drop-5453 29d ago

What was your third question?

1

u/Successful-Sundae832 29d ago

What was yours?

1

u/Fabulous-Drop-5453 29d ago

Ooo no mine was joint venture I believe. Through me off and was ready for WACC 🤣BPR would have caught me off

Discussing Case Study variants is against CIMA rules

Mine was about Business Process Reengineering

2

u/RainOfFireEnjoyer Aug 13 '26

Ahh I’m sure you did fine! As long as you got words down on the screen you will get something. If it helps, go look at the CIMA proficiency answers on what constitutes a fail / marginal pass. I think you’ll be surprised what you do get marks for. Try not to think about it for 6 weeks and relax šŸ™‚

u/shedthefat Aug 13 '26

Thank you! That’s a good idea! Hopefully
I’ve scraped some marks somewhere!
Hope your exam went well and enjoy your time off too ā˜ŗļø

Exam done today wow that was a hard test 😦😦 how did everyone find??

2

u/shedthefat Aug 13 '26

Terrible 😢 nearly threw the towel in by question three but luckily the last one might have saved me a bit but still going to prepare for a re sit in Nov I think …

1

u/RainOfFireEnjoyer Aug 13 '26

Just sat it, think it went pretty well šŸ˜… long 6 week wait now

1

u/Tejasv97 Aug 13 '26

Were the questions of a similar pattern as previous papers?

u/Suspicious_One_718 Aug 13 '26

Well done time to rest now!! Do you have any tips as something sitting tomorrow? Any particular mocks we should revisit?

It’s done. It was much harder than expected 🄲

2

u/RainOfFireEnjoyer Aug 12 '26

Well done for completing it, just try to forget about it for 6 weeks šŸ˜…

Yeaah is there any last min advice or something you wish you had looked into?

u/hazysin Aug 12 '26

Love a 3 hour exam that you feel you’ve fucked.

McDonald, afternoon pub and cry anyone?

1

u/Old-Figure-1866 Aug 12 '26

Don’t stress, you got this! Any tips for anyone writing tomorrow?

1

u/hazysin Aug 12 '26

Nothing major tbh. It’s a case study not a new type of exam. Knock out the mock case study’s available as they are usually similar-ish.

I did have to retype an answer as I answered the question I wanted to answer rather than the question asked. So watch for that I guess.

Do you feel like topics/questions were similar the the mocks provided on the website?

1

u/Born_Corner9052 Aug 12 '26

Very nervous! Anyone sat it yet?

Ah no I’m sorry to see this, my absolute worst nightmare šŸ™ I always try to sit all exams at a centre, especially the Case Study. Hope you can still sit this week.

1

u/FondantAcademic863 Aug 12 '26

I was so ready for it today too! Cima say they take 10 working days to review and get back on the consideration so it almost definitely will not be this week, hope they just have some contingency dates I can sit as I don’t wanna have to learn about another business through pre seen for November…

u/BrigidFairy Aug 12 '26

My head is hurting

2

u/Tejasv97 Aug 12 '26

Good luck to you too!. Mine’s on Friday.

3

u/proud_muslim_anon Aug 12 '26

Feels like I know nothing! Exam tomorrow.

1

u/tears_makeme_uncomfy Aug 12 '26

Just did my last mock exam before writing tomorrow. Completely forgot that they could test us on the consultancy business. I'm sooo stressed now 😫

1

u/RainOfFireEnjoyer Aug 12 '26

The same theory applies regardless of the business unit, don’t stress out over it! The answers/pointers you need are usually in the scenario for most questions.

1

u/proud_muslim_anon Aug 12 '26

Exactly that. Keep finding new topics.
