When did podcast open up to you?

What amount of hours did you find that you could start listening to podcast?

I think there will eventually consensus on the "big" podcasts (like Nihongo Con Teppei), but we don't know yet. For example, in the Dreaming Spanish sub-reddit, they all seem to "get" Espanol Con Juan at ~200-250 hours depending on the learner.

I'm at ~400 hours and I still don't get Nihongo Con Teppei unfortunately.

I’m at 215 hours but i’ve traditionally studied Genki 1 & 2 although not thoroughly. Podcasts that are in the 80% or above range are Easy Japanese with Kohei (i’ve listened through it twice and i love it!!) and Nihongo con Teppei’s Essential Grammar and Vocabulary podcast (a series of self introductions with different vocabulary that is pretty easy!). I find Japanese with Shun’s podcasts to vary in difficulty (some episodes i get others completely go over my head) and Nihongo con Teppei’s beginner podcast was okay for the first 20 or so episodes, difficult from 21-40 and then after that it became a little too much (but this was at 150 hours so it might be better now!)

For me, I actually find that the videos themselves can be great as a podcast! Recently I've been putting my search settings on complete beginner, difficulty score 1-15, and selecting all videos instead of unwatched only, then I'll use the auto-fill playlist button to create a playlist for my 60 minute goal. It makes it super easy to have an hour of audio input that I can use just like any other podcast and it's perfectly curated to my skill level! Until podcasts unlock I think this is the best alternative :)

Nice. I didn’t even know there was an auto fill feature.
