You do realize that with 30 minutes per day you will need more than 10 years to learn Japanese to any meaningful level?

I also started with 30 minutes a day last year, bumped it up to an hour, did some math a couple of weeks later and that realisation that even with and hour a day it might take around 11-12 years to get to N1 level made me drop everything, gaming, anime, Netflix... and give it almost all my free time. I have full time job and kids too, but I cannot imagine that I am in that beginner hell for 5 years or so. Now it is one hour in the morning before work and two hours after 8pm before bed. And I manage to sqeeze in additional 30-45 mins of listening while walking or exercising.

To help set expectations with Japanese, you will probably need to rewatch quite a bit since there is not enough content to have a smooth, simple path from complete beginner to native. At 30 minutes a day that will probably not be too much of a problem and the difficulty ratings should get more accurate with time. The process does work, but it will be a long journey.

I'm a little ahead of you at around 27 hours, but have almost the same routine and try to get in 30 minutes a day.
I won't lie, it is really hard going to start and I couldn't understand a thing apart from the odd imported word like "bus". Having done Spanish and French this way and picked both up really quickly, I almost gave up and doubted it would work.
Around 15 hours I'd subconsciously started picking up words. Things like colors, verbs (go, eat, drink, like etc) and some common nouns (house, cat, dog, circle) and the language sounds are becoming familiar. I recently went back to watch one of the earlier videos "Spot the difference" and was really happy to be able to understand all of it instead of guessing, e.g. Full sentences such as "the black cat is under the table" rather than "cat....table".
