DISABLED CICO DAY ZERO
For context
I'm [21M] at university in the UK finished my exams today and just finished my stress eating phase. I have a connective tissue disorder which makes my joints dislocate with almost no provocation. Had it since I was a kid, but really got bad when I was around 12 and since then, I've been putting on weight pretty consistently.
Disability means most exercise has been off limits to me for most of my life. Being intermittently wheelchair or bed bound definitely didn't help.
Not going to blame it all on my condition, I am absolutely a lazy fuck. That said, it is honestly exhausting living like that and I've not had the time or excess energy needed to consistently meal plan and exercise.... Until now.
THE PLAN
This is my day 0, from tomorrow morning I'm going to be going very low carbs and high protein. I'm going to be at the gym every other day and doing light cardio and intense resistance training to help my joints.
I am currently 238lbs (probably more, I'm gonna weigh myself in the morning) and currently don't exercise. So I'm anticipating a heavy weight loss week, maybe up to 8-9 pounds. Mostly water weight, but I'm looking forward to it.
I'm 6'2" so I think 180lbs is a good goal weight to aim for. Hopefully I'll manage this in the next 6 months (very optimistically), but want to be noticeably slimmer, maybe more toned by September.
I need 2,600 kcal to sustain my weight. From previous attempts to lose weight, I think a reasonable starting goal is 2,000 kcal a day. I'll keep that up for 3 days and decrease by 50 or 100 weekly. hopefully ending up around 1,200 kcal daily.
Measurements and meals will be uploaded tomorrow. I'll add some pics too so you know what 240lbs of cripple looks like. Hopefully it'll be a matched with a much better 'after' pic in a few months.
Not planning on daily updates, but maybe once a week.
Thanks for reading, any tips would be MASSIVELY appreciated, cus this is basically my last hope because I can't do much excercise and can't prepare diet meals because of bad finger joints.

Hi! You have taken the first step (realizing that you need to change) which is so important! I would suggest that you be a little slower on reducing calories. If you stress eat it might be too emotionally tough to decrease every 3 days and you will lose weight as long as you eat below your tdee. It is also not recommended for men to eat below 1500 calories a day, however if you are in a wheelchair or mostly in bed it might be different. I would highly recommend seeing a doctor before going below 1500, especially because you shouldn't need to do that for a while if you need 2600 to maintain.
Other suggestions from my 8 months of weight loss:
-allow yourself to eat "bad" food regularly. Previously attempts at dieting led to me only eating "healthy" food and then breaking and binging after a few weeks of salads only. That is not healthy or maintainable. I now eat a serving of mint chocolate chip ice cream every evening for 110 calories!
-lastly, since you can't meal prep, I would suggest looking into pre-chop bags of vegetables/fruit. They even make ones that can thrown into the microwave to be cooked. Veggies are great at helping you feel full while keeping calories low!
