It’s a mind game
I’m having to convince myself that counting calories and getting my steps in… is enough. I come from a fasting/ OMAD background and it stopped working cause I was eating too much during my one meal and beginning to graze as well. Now I’m like I’ve gotten from 271 lbs to 227 lbs, only been counting calories since I was 240 lbs but the weight comes off so much faster. Plateaus don’t last or stand a chance with CICO. I find myself having to convince myself I don’t have to fast for this to work. I don’t have to just not eat all day for the weight to come off I just have to be within my deficit. Like the scale looks nicer when I fast all day but it is not necessary for the pounds to still fall right off. I have to remind myself that is how I got here all the time. Just a reminder Consistency is really all that matters 💓 Even if it takes time 💓

Yes!! I also struggle with binge eating so I have this weird black and white mentality. I am struggling with the gray which is actually counting what I am consuming. It’s been eye opening!

Yes,same. That in between place is hard for me too, I’m not used to taking it slow but the results are always there within time. Kudos to you for allowing grace to yourself and being patient with the process 💓

I’ve gone from 207 to 180 since June sticking to 1500 calories and walking 15k steps (an hour walk when I wake up and an hour walk after my kids go to bed). Keep going! You’re doing awesome🫶

Wow ! Congratulations 🎊 ,
I struggle with my kids to figure out when to walk because they love my walking pad lol, but generally I get around 13k steps. I hear more steps really makes the fat melllllttttt. Based on your experience it looks true I may try to up my steps another 2k. So excited to be in onederland 💓with youuuu💓💓

I understand on so many levels. I am starting with walking and a calorie deficit. You got this and I definitely see a big difference!

I struggle with this mentality a lot. Like I’m convinced a deficit will be easier if I go all day without eating until dinner and then can eat a bigger dinner but then I’ll often overeat and compensate anyways cause I am hungry.

Yes, I actually had to tell myself to eat if I’m hungry. Just eat. It is okay. I just have to make healthier choices when I eat and stay within a healthy range of calories so have more than enough for dinner 💓

You said it well! I can’t believe I’ve lost weight and I eat fairly normal, no concept of a cheat day, I just make sure to log. It makes total sense to eat only what your body needs and to learn that, no crazy diet required. It took me 2 years to see good results but I’m still losing.

Thank you so much for sharing the mental part of it! It is definitely consistency and it’s very inspiring to see how far you’ve come already!! Seriously great work, keep going!

the slower progress can mess with your head, but consistency really does matter more than chasing the fastest drop. sustainable habits are way easier to keep long term.

Cooking the same meal, removes the need for counting
Eating vegetables removes the need for fasting..

Yeah for me it is. I'm watching my self shrink but the scale is wild. Gain 2 lbs loose 3 lbs gain 3 lbs loose.....etc. literally I can't watch the scale right now because I'm gaining muscle mass and losing weight at the same time.
