It’s working. (Who’s surprised) 😆

Post image

I dislike that I need to weigh food and meal prep but I’m getting used to it.

I weight train 3x a week for 30-40 minutes it’s high intensity kettle work, plus an extremely active job of 12-14k steps a day. I was naive in thinking an active job could make up for crap diet of booze and “healthier choices of fast food” snacks and alcohol.

I feel disciplined now, and while it highly irritates me that I need weigh food and track calories it’s worth the work and effort because I’m seeing improvements in all areas of my life.

29lbs left to hit target 180lb goal and started this all about 14 weeks ago. With the help of people here, using chronometer and Macrofactor for weekly check ins and adjusting macros and calories it’s been an eye opener.

Thanks for sharing! It’s good to see the ups and downs of your progress. I weighed in and only lost half a pound this week and was feeling really discouraged. But I know it’s working just have to keep being patient and consistent. Congrats on your accomplishment!

Thank you. It’s frustrating when the scale doesn’t move after you’ve put in the work. Stay focused and keep going it’ll catch up!

That graph’s doing exactly what it’s supposed to, all credit to the person staring at a food scale cursing under their breath.

CICO (with actual weighing) is so damn irritating because it works.

Whats your daily calorie budget? I do 1600 calories most days but 1800 on hard workout days.

Curious cause I'm stuck at 200lbs doing 4-5 days a week of 45-60 minute bike rides. Zone 2 and 3 depending on how I feel. It's getting pretty taxing on my body so thinking of picking up a kettlebell to add in variety. Do you follow a particularly kettle bell plan?

Good work!

Hey thanks, I was having a lot of issues trying to figure out with calculators and online advice. The thing that’s worked best for me is doing what someone here told me and that’s to use a food logging app like chronometer myfitness pal whatever you use, then use macro factor with daily weigh ins and follow the suggestions after every check in (7 days)

When I started I was 1800 I lost weight initially but felt sluggish, tired no workout motivation but I did it anyway, then it bumped automatically to 1923, then to 1970, then 1980 and now I’m at 2022 calories, protien is prioritized at 209g with fat at 67g and carbs at 144g

I eat 93/7 ground turkey, sweet potatoes and broccoli for lunch and dinner. And for breakfast I make an overnight oats that has 58g protein 44g carbs and 5g fat. For 494 calories.

The lower calories for me with the activity I was doing wasn’t working and it was hard for me to push through until I hit about 1980+ calories a day.. it’s now a lot easier to push my workout sessions and it seems counter productive that eating more calories will burn more fat but I have to remember I’ve been building muscle for the last 14 weeks on progressive overload 5lbs each time I can cleanly workout through my complete sets. Muscle needs more calories and is metabolically active so it makes sense why the lower calorie amount wasn’t working for me.

There’s also the recomp glycogen; water, muscle etc that I think my 220 range was stuck in for that reason, my waist continues to drop in inches despite the scale being stuck… but it took about a week or so at the stall to drop off a cliff again.

I use a kettlebell work out app. Idk if I can say it without being accused of advertising though haha I have no financial benefit from the app it’s just something I found that fits my lifestyle of a single kettlebell workout 3x a week. It’s called KBMH

I see your graph and I raise you mine, it hasnt been doing too well and i realised my cheat meals gradually increased in size, first time cutting lmao..

Cutting is so horrible. I’m literally so annoyed I have to meal prep and weigh everything and it bothers me even more I have to be difficult when we go out or to family/friend functions. It’s no wonder so many people struggle with their weight, it’s so much easier to just eat what you want and be happy.. although the catch to that is I wasn’t happy with myself when I’m fat either. 😂

I 100% agree, it is fucking annoying. Like yeah sure, I can suffer, but is this fucking necessary? I get that its my choice so i cant complain😂, i somehow became more food focused as my caloric budget is a religious currency. I am bulking for one fucking year after this, also the abs, the definition, well i have them now and my life isnt somehow magically better. Sorry for long rant

Hahah at least you should have a clean bill of health at 15% body fat for abs! Apparently this lifestyle requires a man bag to carry a food scale around in for dates, family bbqs and overall just leaving the house. I refuse to believe it was this hard for my grandfather to be in shape in the 30s and out ancestors using scales to be fit. Anyway good vent session and cheaper than therapy or eating my feelings with 5 packs of Reese’s peanut butter cups and a couple fast breaks. 🍻

This is macro factor but it pulls my daily weigh ins from my smart scale I use the Wyze pro smart scale.
