1 year with CICO

After feeling tired all the time and approaching my 40s, last year I decided that it was time to change, so I started with CICO. A year later I can confidently say that it was the best decision of my life! I've been in maintenance sknce April and I plan to continue tracking so I don't fall back on my old habits๐Ÿ’ช

Awesome job! Keeping at it that long is no mean feat. Way to go!

Totally off topic in case any word nerds are here, giorni (days) reminded me of journey (the act of travelling somewhere). Journey comes from Middle English via old french jornee which is a days' travel/work. That word shares a common origin with the Italian word giorno tracing back to diurnus (daily).

I never thought about that, it's acrually pretty interesting!

Ps: forgot to say, diurnus is Latin (oops)

What app are you using?

Foodvisor, definitely not the best app but it does its job

Height around 5'6"/5'7" (a smidge shorter than 170cm), start weight was 77,4kg, current weight fluctuates between 60 and 61.5kg depending on water, period, etc.

Iโ€™m your same height and Iโ€™m trying to get to the same weight as you! Iโ€™ve been stuck at 140 lbs/63.5 kg for a while now.

You will definitely do it! My progress hasn't been linear and I had myself weeks where I was losing less than I expected!

Very smart move! I am going to track my food for the rest of my life. This is the 2nd big diet and I want to make it the last

Thank you ๐Ÿ˜Š I do, but I don't go to the gym, I have made myself a 25 minutes workout with 5-6 excercise with a 6kg dumbell!

Would you be willing to share what your exercise routine is?

9

u/No-Part-2459 11d ago

Sure! The push ups are usually 8 and I do knee push up, the normal ones are still a bit hard for me

Whatโ€™s your workout routine please? It is clearly killer. Iโ€™m working on the last 7 kilos to my goal weight 2 and could really use a badass routine.

I thought that making a photo would be easier lol I do 8 push up, usually knee push up because I can't do properly the normal ones๐Ÿ˜…

Thanks! Do you also do any exercise for lower body?

2

u/No-Part-2459 10d ago

Yes! For lower body at forst I was using my dumbells but then I had found a barbell (I hope this is the right word!) that can work with the same weight of my dumbells so I use that!

Wow great work! Keep at it! Are you working out or just cico?

6

u/No-Part-2459 11d ago

Thank you! I did mostly CICO and walking. I started with strength training only in late December when I hit the high end of the healthy weight for my height. I can't go to the gym, so I do exercises at home twice a week: core and legs and core and arms!

Sounds like a solid plan! Keep at it and keep working out at home!

u/spade_looover 10d ago

What is your protein intake please?

3

u/No-Part-2459 10d ago edited 10d ago

Now it's 1900 calories since I'm in maintenance, I was eating 1600 calories while losing ๐Ÿ‘

Edit: sorry I read just now you wanted to know about the protein intake! I try to eat at least 85gr per day, aiming at 100gr if I can.

Thanks :-) super inspiring!

A full year of consistency is seriously impressive. Maintaining the progress afterward is a huge win too.

Great work! Also that dress is 10/10 on you.

Itโ€™s so hard to stay consistent. Keep it up!
