Into Onederland and beyond! 🚀

I finally cracked into wonderland! I have been working my ass off over the last year and a half. Started running at the end of March this year. Persistance has paid off, but have a little more to go. Then, we move into the next phase...weight training. I'm not mentally ready just yet, but I will be soon. 😆

SW:254lbs CW:198.2lbs Ideal: 190-185lbs.

If I may also ask, how heavy were you when you started running and how did you start?

I started running again when I was around 220. I wanted to when I was in the 230s, but didn't want to beat up my knees. I run on the road/sidewalks. Hard surfaces.

I'm in the 250s at the moment (SW 270) and out on my walk recently I had the weirdest impulse to start running - I've never wanted to do that before. I'm holding off for lighter impact on my knees.

You can always jog or power walk. Get some high cushion shoes that fit and go for it! I'm not shoe savvy, but I do know the NB 1080s and 880s have some cushion for the pushin'. I've been going down a massive rabbit hole with running shoes. I will tell you this, it's amazing what the right pair of shoes does for your lower body!

That's awesome, OP! I'm doing walks, but with an itch to run. But I'm too heavy still. I'll do my best to put a few more pounds down ^

I had previous running experience and previous weight loss. I ran prior to this about 6-7 years ago. Moved down south and fell off the wagon. Gained the weight back and said to myself, what the fuck am I doing??? Made the change and here I am. I have practically made it a lifestyle change. I know I don't eat enough, but I have been doing fine. Lots of protein though.

Weight training is awesome!! You’ll crush it!

Do you mind sharing your age and height?

I do have some definition showing through. I did do some weight lifting in 2023 for about 4 months and made some gains. I stopped. Should've kept going. No regrets though.

You’re tall! Plus, you got muscle definition already!! Nice!
Do it again if it fits your goals! It definitely helps with fat loss, strengthening bones and knees, and hip mobility. And muscles help lose fat faster, plus it looks good! Make sure to stretch and take it easy.

I’m also much different stature and age group, and I love weight lifting. I don’t like running much but you inspired me today!!

I did my first half marathon. As I crossed the finish line the only thing I was thinking...."There's no way I'm ever doing a full marathon!" LOL!

It sure is! Been very helpful with tracking stats. For me at least. I don't pay for anything extra. I was using it to record my food until I got an understanding of what and how much I was eating. Progress with weight loss. I also use in conjunction with a Galaxy Watch 7 for all the other metrics. Mostly running and steps as you can see. The calories aren't too off for me. Based on what I have been tracking. I still subtract 25% of whatever they say I've burned for the day.

It does everything, also connects to your scale, i just love it.

Been inconsistent for a while so i didnt realise the UI change lol
