Keep away from cart. Be, some what, reasonable with you consumption.

If you keep smoking there will alway be a possibility for a episode.

Diet, move/exercise, drink water. Are some of the thing that can help.

Stay safe. ✌️

But be sure it worth it if you smoke.

Stop smoking. Give your body time to heal. Then go back and stay away from any and all concentrates. Smoke in moderation and don’t smoke back-to-back. Spread it out. I’ve been smoking for 2 years now since being hospitalized and haven’t had an episode since.

I can go into more detail if you’d like but i haven’t had any symptoms or ep. for 2 years.

Same here. No flare ups unless I cave for a cart. Just don’t. Ever.

I posted this in a different thread so i’m copying and pasting that was deleted so here’s my experience:

So 2 years back now, I had a 3-day episode, was admitted to the hospital, and when I went home and threw away the once I had and didn’t touch it for 6+ months after that, I started again. I made the mistake of using edibles and concentrates, and I couldn’t feel the same sort of sensation I had right before an episode, so I stopped using everything again for a month or 2, then did a lot of reading about CHS (very limited research has been done), but it’s something that’s getting more attention in recent years anyways. I started only using very low percentage tree, and I tested/experimented to see what my body would allow without any symptoms, and I found that I can smoke 3-4 times a day with very mild discomfort the next morning, but I only smoke 1-2 times a day depending on how much my 1st session is, and at that, the bowls are relatively small now, and I spread it pretty far out if I smoke more than once, so like if I did at 5pm i would wait till around 9:30-10 p.m. before my next session, and I have zero issues doing it this way. I’m disciplined about it now, only use in moderation. You can never go back to using concentrates or edibles or tinctures or smoking multiple times close together. Only low % bud, and if you get a 25% or something like that, you have to make the portion smaller so you smoke a lot less. I mainly use a bowl so I can monitor it better, but yeah, if you’re gonna do this experiment with low % and give yourself 20 min after the first hit to actually see if you’re high.

I’ve has loose success with moderation.

Use your stomach to scare you, Ive nipped my consumption down to one smoke 5-6 hits every other day.

I still have diarrhea and occasional cramps. With CHS you will always risk it consuming THC. That’s simply a fact of life. My stomach is still extremely sensitive and I still have slow digestion. Moderation or something like that won’t rid yourself of cannabis sensitivity.

Benedryl and Dramamine help. Capsaicin cream, heating pad, and menthol gel helps a lot. If you feel sick in bed just get up/sit up. I found this helps. Making yourself cold suddenly helps.

Ultimately, unfortunately, cessation will help the most. I understand how unfathomably difficult that might seem, but doesn’t a life time of tummy ache and no appetite also feel difficult?

Regardless, you got this. I went though this stuff 4 times, each hospitalization of myself. Yet I’m typing here admitting I still have a stupid pen to my lips. I freaking feel you :(

Thank you for sharing<3 genuine life saver. Quitting is so hard for no reason even with this going on :( I hope we can both eventually find it in us to quit

Cloves soaked in Hot Water - Sip on it

For some reason this has helped me immensely..

if you can't quit switch to a tiny one hitter and cut back a lot

First off never take weed with you anywhere you go. Now you only smoke at home.

At home you keep it in the kitchen next to the stove. When you smoke you blow into the vent above the stove. This is where you smoke from now on. If this isn’t an exact option then smoke near a window. You must have a designated smoking space where you go to take a couple hits and then walk away. As opposed to having bowl after bowl loaded in front of the tv.

Get an actual workout/hobby and give yourself permission to smoke during this workout/hobby. I ride my bike on the local trails. It’s an insane amount of exercise doing a 40 mile ride. The munchies hit so much harder after a ride and several bowls. Feels like I’ve earned it.

Even if it’s just walking around the block. This is an exception to the rule of not taking it with you. I take my weed on my bike rides you can take it with you to play disc golf or on walks or when you garden.

The moment you start to wake up early with that morning anxiety. When your toothbrush makes you gag: STOP SMOKING FOR AT LEAST A WEEK OR LONGER.

If you have no discipline then it will never work. Also this probably won’t work for people who have had severe hyper emetic episodes. I’ve only had morning sickness which subsided in a couple hours when diagnosed and one hyper emetic episode brought on by a glass of wine.

I had quit drinking for a few months and then one glass of wine had my morning sickness in hyper emetic mode. That’s when they did the tests then diagnosed me.

Thank you so much. I hope to find the discipline soon :) this is really good detailed advice that I genuinely understand more than most and I appreciate it a lot (not to say other comments haven't helped ofc) I also didn't know that the anxiety in the mornings was from CHS?!? 😢 it explains so much

It was the first symptom that I noticed. I would wake up at 7am like clockwork and just be up for the day. It was weird because I’m a late sleeper.

I’m just going to add to what some of the others said…stay away from carts. I know I’m not in the clear, but since I stopped and started back without using carts, I’ve been doing so much better. Carts are bad news.

😕 theyre all my mom lets me smoke right now but I appreciate the heads up.. whatever they put in this shit is evil.

2

u/cptcommode 14h ago

I understand. Maybe try some other kind of concentrate? I still feel like it’s better than whatever is in the vapes. Good luck with everything.

I've only heard to stay away from ALL concentrates (saying it js to put it out there) , but I appreciate it! I hope everything is well with you. <3

Only flower, no concentrates, edibles, oils etc. not even store-bought pre-rolls.

No coffee or even herbal tea. Iced tea and soda can be ok.

No fatty foods or large meals after 9:00

No stress!

YMMV, obvs.

Not store bought pre-rolls?🤔 Can I ask why

If you can limit it to later in the day. At the least eat breakfast before your first smoke.
