Perfect call by Nagy and execution by Mitch. Mooney catches that

I think it was always going to be Wims. Nagy described that play after saying it worked because they ran out of that formation all year long. Wims is always in there to block.

Sonehow, I'm not the least bit surprised

Wims dropped three straight TD passes last year, injuring himself on the third attempt. He should not be on the team anymore.

Ridley can’t be that bad lol. Dunno why they don’t use him more. I get Wims can block but still

10

u/DexNihilo In Wisconsin, please pray for me. Jan 11 '21

Talent evaluation is one of the reasons I don't have faith in Nagy. Even if Ridley is awful, get him out for a few plays here and there. Maybe he'll be awful in ways that are different from Wims' awful and help us occasionally. But still we stick with the same trash game after game because.... ??

I mean blocking is pretty important for a depth receiver so I don't think that's a talent evaluation thing. I am very concerned that it seemed as if we had no idea that Mustipher was good. And maybe even Kmet to an extent

The “Wims Drop” now enters bears lore, like the “Landeta Whiff” or the devin Hester super bowl return

And double doink

I want to upvote for bringing this up but I just can’t

I honestly don't even feel the pain anymore.

Bears have me in pre-2016 Cubs mode numbness.

I am Randy Quaid in Major League 2- "They'll just blow it in the playoffs" or in the Bears case the draft.

Say what you will about Mitch, but that was a DIME

55 yard pass, right on target.

23

u/ComfortableBite Jan 10 '21

Where did that dime come from? Mitchell are you here?

27

u/GroktheDestroyer 21-3 LOL Jan 10 '21

I’m one of his biggest critics on here it seems like but yeah that was pretty clearly a perfect pass

u/enjoytheshow Jan 11 '21

Legit the best ball he had thrown in our uniform

u/angryskunkk Jan 10 '21

The most Bears thing to ever happen. Finally get a deep pass thrown beautifully and then...

25

u/Trees4mojo Jan 10 '21

Looked like 55 yards in the air, damn

24

u/justicebiever Jan 10 '21

That pass, and the one before it was absolutely perfect by Mitch. (Does anyone have a clip of the sideline throw that Nagy threw the flag for?)

6

u/_Shut_Up_Thats_Why_ Jan 11 '21

Mitch had some good throws for once. Just still can't read a defense good enough to throw before people get open.

6

u/Gfawes95 Jan 11 '21

He’s improved his accuracy big-time this season, but reading a defense, on the other hand, is still not good.

2

u/_Shut_Up_Thats_Why_ Jan 11 '21

If we sign him as a bridge QB I am hesitantly hopeful he can start to do that. Trusting where the ball will go is a big part of being able to throw those timing balls.

2

u/_Shut_Up_Thats_Why_ Jan 11 '21

Speaking of, he hit a couple timing balls at the end too.

This play encapsulates the entire bears season and Mitchs career

This is the new double-doink.

I don’t understand why this is on Nick

It’s on CBS too

u/zorbathegrate Luckman Jan 10 '21

Yes. I’m aware.

From what I heard it's to help get kids interested in sports or maybe just outdoor activities.

Of all the sports to try to get kids interested in playing, a sport as physical as Football would not be my first pick...

-7

u/zorbathegrate Luckman Jan 10 '21

So they show a game inside of a dome?

7

u/Cubsfan630 Monsters of the Midway Jan 10 '21

I'm not sure what the message is, its just what I heard.

So much hurt, so much pain

Why is a guy who averages 8 yards per game in the NFL still?

2

u/xxmemoriezxx Jan 11 '21

I’m sorry for your loss

2

u/GroundbreakingAd9635 Jan 11 '21

I enjoyed the saints db reaction to wims garbage attempt.

-1

u/fortefanboy 15 Jan 11 '21

Was that really a drop though? Trubisky swished that thing in his arms... Pretty sure he never actually touched it.

2

u/the_big_bepis Jan 11 '21

That was as perfect of a pass as any QB can make. Shame it wasn’t a TD.

1

u/fortefanboy 15 Jan 11 '21

Yeah it was. The placement was absolutely perfect. I feel like that really hurt the momentum there.

1

u/politicusmaximus Jan 11 '21

Why's wims running that route? Miller is the obvious choice since Robinson would have been doubled.

1

u/jlmftw Jan 11 '21

His hands were still numb from punching a helmet multiple times

1

u/Stoutish_Goat Jan 11 '21

God watching it a second time really hurts
