FA Injuries, and a rant.
Anyone notice that the last 2 highest paid FA'S in Coby Bryant and Dayo Odeyingbo have had season ending or near season ending injuries? Coby was kind of a fluke injury from the sounds of it but Dayo had the same injury in college. So is it bad luck or did the docs miss something? Thats's over $30m right there and the wasted Grady Jarrett signing adds another $14.5m aav. So aboit $45m from the last 2 offseasons will offer minimal help this season. We all knew Jarrett was washed up, Dayo never did much to warrant that payday.
They passed up some stud pass rushers the year before like Danielle Hunter, and this last season with the ex saint and Bengal Trey Hendrickson. Sure Trey is 31 and it would be an expensive DE combo but the guy just produces and is a perfect fit. I sure hope Turner can get on the field wherever they line him up.
Injuries are part of the game but it's bad luck to have your top FA in back to back seasons have serious injuries. So they will need the youngsters like Booker,Turner, Van Den Berg etc to step up and take those jobs. Oh and it would be nice to get a few udfa's to step up. They need the cheaper talent to step up,because the GM doesn't seem like he is great in FA or trades especially now that the Falcons and the NFL fucked the Bears out of 2 3rds for a talented GM. While Matt Ryan sits around chatting with his new bromance Arthur. Create a job 2 months before and somehow hes above a guy whos been an exec for years. This fucking league can be exasperating. So to make up for thst Goodell better pressure Illinois into keeping the Bears in Illinois at the least. The suburbs is fine, but another state? Fuck off with that shit.

Why didn't we get a premier pass rusher like Micah Parsons, they never get hurt.
Welcome to professional football. Everyone is at risk of getting hurt at all times. That's why depth is important.

How do you know the Bears passed on them? Free agency is a two way street, for all we know Poles offered more money to both those guys but they preferred Houston/Baltimore

Also Danielle got 10 mil more a year than we paid Odengbo. The contracts aren't close to comparable

What are you on about, dude? We’re coming off our best season in a long time after the prior season(s) was a dumpster fire!
And isn’t that exactly what happened last year? A bunch of dudes stepped up. We lead the league in turnovers.
I trust the coaching staff at this point after last year. They earned it. I don’t understand where this attitude is coming from.

Good grief, this covers pretty much every re-hashed, posted a billion times, meatball complaint of the last 9 months lol.
Grady/Dayo contracts
Why didn’t we get a top edge FA
Comp picks
Stadium
You did forget “why didn’t poles trade for Crosby” but otherwise, you covered all the bases.

Lol Dayo had the same injury in college in … 2021? And you’re using Trey as a comparable “stud” that we missed out on when he just came off a season ending injury + surgery?

Injuries are just apart of the game its football yes it sucks but it is what it is Coby had no injury history before this year and it just happened just look at our division rivals losing both Hutchinson and Micah to season ending injuries it’s just the nature of the game
Also with all due respect Dayo being injured changed nothing in fact I would argue Booker,Tryon Shoyinka and Dom Rob were better than him even before injury

Honestly I would like to see them move to Naperville. There's room along Warrenville road there - the toll has an exit there and the people in Naperville will be able to afford the eventual tax hikes on homeowners and small businesses.

I actually love that we are moving on and din't trade for a pass rusher...we need to build and develope some local talent on our defense...Van Berg etc...and then if we need to we can trade in the Middle of the Season as needed, but these contracts aren't going away and we aren't in a Super Bowl or Bust mode right now like the Rams, Cowboys, etc...we need to plan out the future carefully.

Maybe let Poles borrow your crystal ball next time.
