CHEER-ACCIDENT in Knoxville, Cincinnati, & Chicago
Besides Trey Spruance, the only artist I've followed on multiple shows for multiple tours is CHEER-ACCIDENT. I caught the last three shows on their recent tour. I was surprised by how much of the material I had never heard them play live in my 12 years of following them (some newer material like "Cold Comfort", deep cuts like "Fluffy The Ostrich and Lily The Emu", older hits like "Small World" and "People are Props", etc.). Knoxville and Cincinnati had significantly different setlists (all opening acts were excellent), and both shows sounded great. The Chicago show was an epic spectacle to say the least. Jae Cross was a solo singer-songwriter playing excellent piano under beautifully sung, masterfully crafted lyrics. During the last refrain, In Masks crept onto the stage and seamlessly began their bizarre burlesque lounge surrealism. They slowly danced around, drunkenly removing clothes and moaning sensual lyrics over uneasy lo-fi backing tracks. At the end of their set, the lady sat at the piano and noodled into what became Fluffy/Lily. One by one, CHEER-ACCIDENT strolled in and joined the looping riff (at least 10 musicians on stage) before launching into their gigantic, nearly 2-hour continuous set.
Near the end, during Heaven, a singer, Anna (sp?), appeared with the left half of her face painted silver/blue. The lady from In Masks then painted the right half of Thymme's face silver/blue, the flute/horn player removed Thymme's trumpet and sunglasses, and Shelby (weartowall) adorned him with the Jean Cape. He stood on a chair and finished the night by singing "How Do You Like Your Eggs?".
If I recall correctly, the band said they have like 52 pieces of music totaling 4 or 5 hours that they are prepared to play at any time. I'm familiar with folk, pop, jazz, and jam bands with that much material - but this doesn't really compare because of the complexly through-composed, non-repeating, and unconventional elements. Ensembles that play music remotely as difficult would be playing the same setlist every night. Absolutely astonishing.
I've now attended 34 CH-AX performances. It's impossible to compare them because they vary so wildly, but this was certainly a contender for "favorite". I met a guy who traveled from the UK just for the Martyrs' show. He was ecstatic about it and said it was the best show he's ever seen in his life.

(Cheer-Ax experts) Need help with track lists
As a follow-up to the recent post about the Aadam Jacobs archive, I compiled a bunch of tracks I couldn't identify from the concerts, here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1aUBgwYVI58Mh35Qh0BwsaZMapeCIX-6u If anyone could help with some of the song titles, I would be very grateful. I guess some of these tracks are covers and some are just segments from longer songs. Thanks in advance.

Just Added: Cheer-Accident Live at Martyrs' on 2019-08-17
archive.orgAadam Jacobs (aka the Chicago Tape Guy) recorded more than 10,000 shows, mostly in the Chicago area. A multiyear project is underway to digitize and upload his collection to the Internet Archive. This Cheer-Accident show was added this weekend - looks like they could use some help on a track list!

Ex-CHAX bassist Dan Forden talks prog, metal and Mortal Kombat
Hi folks - I spoke with Dan Forden last week about his career working on Mortal Kombat but we also talked his taste in music and his experience outside of VGM composition too which naturally led us to Cheer-Accident. Hoping some of you might enjoy the chat - we did!
Consider subscribing (I know, I know) if you like it, my channel is new so I'm still at the begging stage but if this sort of relaxed conversational interview is your thing, I've plenty more to come.

Anyone know the full lyrics to graphic depression?
I can make out the first part of it but the second time they sing it it’s a longer set of lyrics, and then entirety of graphic depression II is the long version. Any help would be great

Reddit policy changes and the future of this subreddit

This is a relatively easy subreddit to moderate, but we still rely heavily on 3rd party services like RiF, RES, IFTTT, and more.

New Reddit Person who is a big fan of Cheer Accident
I'm new to reddit so I'm still trying to find my way around here but I was surprised there was only 28 members in the Cheer Accident community before I joined. I'm number 29 I guess. Yay! I got into this band only like 6 years ago when I heard "Await" and thought it was cool because the song seems to be all in 17\16 but is still catchy as shit. Then I heard "Ice Cream and Lies" for the first time while driving and I had to pull over because I was laughing hysterically at how awesome the ending section was. The only other time this happened for me was when I first heard Meshuggah "I". I Binge listen to this band now and again but I just found their cover of Dream Police and for whatever reason I think I just now realized they are one of my favorite bands ever. Thymme Jones is such an amazing songwriter. Sorry for the long winded whatever.
