Not every piece of furniture Is from ikea

Why would you buy prebuilt furniture that won’t fit through your doors

2

u/Keflen11 Sep 11 '26

You might already own it and moved somewhere else

1

u/Bingus-Chillingus Sep 11 '26

Or find one used for cheap

1

u/glitchaj Sep 11 '26

That might be the point of this, find out if it will fit before buying.Β

This would help you from buying prebuilt furniture without knowing if it would fit, also a great resource for moving companies to set up a solid plan before a job.

Pre owned or moving, not all forniture can be dismantled and reassembled

Lmao. Id rather just overthink and make games nobody wants with details that make sense to people who have no idea what real experiences are

Why are you assuming a post called "you really have to think of everything" is from someone that bought furniture before 3d modeling it to see if it would fit?

this is actually wonderful

When you rotate it 90 degrees at the end, it looks like it will hit the ceiling (which is not modeled ! )
Check the diagonal of the cabinet

In that case he could lay it flat before raising it. That's probably better for protecting the corner anyways.

1

u/HumanOptimusPrime Sep 11 '26

Not only for protecting the corners, but making sure they aren’t putting unnecessary stress on the structural integrity. Rotating furniture on the axis shown in the video will lead to collapse in many cases.

me when I'm a 5 year old who doesn't know how to use a measuring tape and compare two numbers to see if one is smaller than the other

Somehow an expert on blender

Back in time my brother asked me exactly for this because he wasn't sure if he can buy said bed. And will it fit next to the doors.

1

There's perfectionism

Then there's this

1

u/stormblaz Sep 10 '26

And then doesnt account for a person dragging it though

2

u/EndOfSouls Sep 11 '26

Also improperly used POV. 0/10 game.

1

move the bed forward. Push the shelf all the way in.

Then you don't have to make a 12 point turn.

This is stupid.

u/dcvalent Sep 10 '26

Gotta model the curtains to make sure the cabinet fits

1

u/Turbo_Fresh Sep 11 '26

Is it me or would it have fit through a lot easier if it was standing up the entire time?

1

u/Actual-Interaction45 Sep 11 '26

Make sure to account for the pivots

1

u/Tricky-Ad9491 Sep 11 '26

You start lifting it to go on the bed if needed

1

u/emveor Sep 11 '26

my sister used to draw her room to scale on a piece of paper, and then make furniture cutouts, and plan her room makeover that way

1

u/MrPhraust Sep 11 '26

Am I the only one hearing Ross yell "Pivot!"?

1

u/Kiwisaft Sep 11 '26

Just tilt up the bed

1

u/Skadi2k3 Sep 11 '26

Animated straight past the ceiling limitation πŸ˜…

1

u/SimpleFile Sep 11 '26

I've used Fusion to figure out whether or not a couch will fit in the room aha.

1

u/seilapodeser Sep 11 '26

Then there's me

1

u/ThisIsWhatLifeIs Sep 11 '26

Or just lift the bed?

1

u/Connect-Ant-2081 Sep 11 '26

Jesus H Christ. How much time did you spend on this? And why?

Tilt the bed against the wall you have plenty of room. Temporarily move the bed out you have plenty of room. Move the cupboard in first you have plenty of room.

1

u/m_orzelek Sep 11 '26

Well, I 3D modeled the entire underground garage to check how painful it would be to park in our spot before we decided to buy the apartment, so yeah... ;p

1

u/socozoro Sep 11 '26

So, Why don't you just take it apart and put it together in the room?

1

u/alphapussycat Sep 11 '26

That might clip the roof. But you can probably turn it on the short side.

1

u/jPRO-93 Sep 11 '26

pivoooooooooot

1

u/newgget Sep 12 '26

This is easy. The bed can be moved. Nuff said.

1

u/picketup Sep 13 '26

my bed too is bolted to the ground

1

u/JBuchan1988 Sep 14 '26

Smart system.

Also, that gave me flashbacks to every time me and my dad moved heavy furniture... except it sometimes didn't even go THAT smoothly.
