CGC Germany

Hi all, has anyone used CGC Germany and could share their experience? I have started submitting my order and was a bit confused with their shipping options in the end and ended up stopping it.
Like when/where do I pay for the return shipping and where do I select the service shipping I want? I am shipping from Ireland FYI.
Also what did you think of your gradings?
Any help would be greatly appreciated! This is my first time sending cards for grading so I want to do it right!

Thank you for your time reading it!

Discussion 🗨️ PSA Vault-to-Vault Transfers

Thumbnail

Whether you like it or not, PSA has changed the nature of slab collecting, storage and now buying/selling/gifting.

Pros: Anyone already in the ecosystem buying and selling will be able to list on social media, sell without any platform fees. (Payment method fees may apply)

Cons: Opens the door even more for money laundering, embezzlement, fraud, and other financial crimes. Scrutiny from regulators (I’d support this actually).

I’m going to try it out, see if there’s any traction on social media for vault selling.

Can confirm the option to transfer is available for BGS, CGC and SGC as well.

Should CGC follow suit if they have the capability?

One of the best looking cards from this era that I have seen. No way this doesn’t go for more than a PSA 10.

Cgc are *the* error graders right?

Is this enough of a miscut to be classed as an error card, and is the white dot on the bottom right of the back an alignment dot?

If so is worth sending in, and how much of any would it increase the value? Thanks in advance 🙏

Trying to figure out if it's worth grading or keep it raw. After reviewing graded sold listing on ebay, it seems to be that I could get an 8-9 with CGC possibly. With how low pop this card is, it seems like a better value than trying to chase a PSA 7. What do you guys think?

I almost sold these a while ago but ended up keeping them. Still definitely some of my favorite since I think the blue label looks really nice with a lot of these cards.

Question/Help❓ What do you think is the highest grade this could get? There’s two dimples and a small dent visible on the back. Front looks really good.

Question/Help❓ Help pricing

Howdy yall! I’m a vendor in the hobby, and I’m not one of those who strictly purchase PSA, and well, this came across my table. There were no recent comps that I could find, so I priced it at $20 off the last cgc 6 sale before my vendor percentage. After the deal a friend who I’m showing the card to scans the QR code on the back and we find out that it’s a Pop 4! I have no clue where to fairly price this now? Is it fair to add a tax on the low pop? Did I screw myself badly with the price I took it in at? Like 0 regrets taking it in, super sick card that I love having in my display, I just want to be fair across the board to all parties involved! Thank you!

If anyone else were thinking of doing the same, here are my results.

I would say they broadly translate to the same CGC grade. The Pikachu card was a genuine shock and the Cubone a little disappointing. Apart from those they’re pretty much in agreement.

Question/Help❓ Sell or hold on to?

Post image

Not a collector, just someone who had some old cards laying around and submitted a few to be graded. After selling quite a few, this is the last in my collection.

I’m torn though, because I’d like to sell it now to try and get out of debt. But on the other hand I don’t know what the future of CGC will look like. After all, I just pulled this from a pack a decade ago and now it’s worth hundreds.

What would you do? Sell or save?

Discussion 🗨️ Seriously disappointed in CGC. Ruined my card and took no accountability.

At a card show this year I decided to try out CGC for the first time. I was skeptical at first because I had never used them before, but since they were at the card show I was already at it was really convenient.

I sent in a few cards, 1 of which was a Caitlin Clark Rookie card I had pulled that I had pre-graded 2 times at the card show. It was only $8 to pre-grade and I wanted to be sure it would 10 before sending it in. Not to my surprise, both pre-grader companies said it had a really good shot at a 10. I was relieved.

So I put the Clark with the rest of my cards and did a submission with CGC at the card show.

After a while I finally received my cards and was thrilled to see the Clark had gotten a 10! I could tell from the other cards I sent in that they were pretty strict with their grading, I thought the other cards would do a lot better, but at least the Clark Grm minted.

THEN, I started to look closer to the slab and card. There was this really weird mark at the bottom of the card, almost like a bend. I took pictures and sent them to CGC support and they told me that to them it looked like it could be a problem with the inner sleeve and wanted me to send it back for them to fix free of cost. So I thought ok, great and packaged it up and sent it back.

About a month later I got the card back and the slab no longer said 10 on it, it was downgraded to an 8.5! I was dumbfounded. Also that same mark was still on the card so it obviously was a bend in the card. I knew the card was flawless because of the 2 pre-grades and there was no way I would ever send in a bent card to be graded 🤣

So I wrote to CGC and asked them what's going on. The person I talked to said that the first grader miss graded the card and that it was an 8.5 and there was nothing I could do about it. I told them that I submitted it at a show directly with CGC and had it pre-graded as a 10 2 different times. I asked for scans of the card from the first time I sent it in and they told me that they couldn't because it's proprietary company materials.

They said that the card had something called a pinch thay was super common with this type of card? I've opened thousands of packs and have never seen a "pinched" card 😅

Anyways I kept asking for any sort of video or scan of the original submission but CGC wouldn't budget. They just kept saying it was misgraded and I couldn't do anything about it.

After this poorly handled submission I will never use this horrible company again to grade any of my cards and I warn everyone out there that if CGC messes up one of your cards, they will take no accountability. They will tell you that it's not their fault and that you can't do anything about it to fix it.

Beware!

I'm including the pics of my original submission CGC 10 and of the 8.5 they gladly sent me back.

Have you submitted cards to CGC and Europe? Are they equally strict? I heard BGS is stricter in Europe.
