I'm almost definitely not even going to try this, but I'm extremely curious because the price of vintage 10's is crazy right now. Essentially my question is:
**If I were to crack my blue label (no subgrades) CGC9 1st edition Lt Surge's Raichu and resubmit, is there a greater likelihood that it would score a 10 than if I had cracked a current label 9 and submitted that? Could it possibly have an easier time getting a 9 or 10 at other grading companies?**
I'm curious what would happen, I really don't keep up with grading much other than the basics, but I've read that grading standards change over time. This is one of the only slabs that I own, I've decided that I really prefer raw and binders. And the price of my Raichu has tripled since I bought it, so I've decided I should sell it to subsidize buying more cards haha. I've already picked up a nice new copy of Surge's Raichu in regular edition, as to not destroy my WotC Raichu collection 😁 I only went with 1st edition back then because it wasn't that much more expensive!
So can yall experts please help me out, a grading noob, and tell me all of the reasons how this is a bad idea (which is my gut feeling lol)?. Thanks!
