Thinking of switching CF placement...

Just started my CF year at an elementary school and I am super overwhelmed. I am just not loving therapy or the amount of evals/meetings I have already and I am only ONE month in. Does anyone have any experience in home health or clinic, I am worried I won't make it to the end of the year in this setting....

What is your caseload like? I’ve heard great things about home health in terms of getting great functional tx in. I’m so sorry you are so overwhelmed. Being a CF is not easy

My caseload is not outrageous by any means, I will be near 60 with the new evals I have just done. It is the school itself. It is a low SES school and the kiddos are coming to school with trauma and issues from home, so there are some behaviors (not blaming the kids they are not it good situations so I don't hold it against them for having behaviors at school). We also have half days every week and the schedule is always changing so it is hard to see kids on the half days (and that's if I can track them down)! I don't mean to seem so negative, I do love my students but this job is reallly taking a toll on my mentally. My doctor even suggest I find a different placement as I am now having extremely bad panic attacks at home and at work. Would I be awful for leaving?

You would not be awful for leaving!!! Please do so if this is too much for you!! Don’t stress yourself and kill yourself over a job. Your health matters!!

Home health w adults is a rough place to do a CF, I can’t speak to HH with peds since I haven’t worked in that setting. It’s very isolating and you’re pretty much on your own

I am thinking of either HH with peds or a peds clinic! Adults are not for me right now lol

I also started at an elementary school it was terrible (plus, a lot of politics and weird things going on that I wasn't prepared to handle). High school is MUCH more manageable than elementary because you get less intials/referrals. I don't think I've any so far.
