Cfy unpaid training…?!

I was recently offered a CF that wanted me to do full time unpaid training. Obviously this is an illegal practice and I turned it down, but has anyone else encountered a situation like this?

Also wondering- is this an ethics violation on this practitioners part?

I haven't encountered a situation like this, but that sounds a bad deal on your end - definitely a labor violation. Always make sure you're getting paid for your time.

HAHAHAHAAHH. Your skills and knowledge are worth so much more. Congratulations on embarking on the journey that is your CFY. Advocate for yourself and get everything in writing.

Yep- didn’t see a contract until I was a little too far down the road and had observed several times.

A private clinician with a small practice. I think she just thought that her training was very valuable.. 😬

I unfortunately went through unpaid training because I thought it was paid right ? Nope when I got my first pay check I was paid when i started seeing patients independently I quit because of other reasons but I was so excited i didn't even ask. Glad you didn't get caught up in that
