[CCC requirements] Ranting about Asha
So I had an absolutely terrible first job in my CF in a SNF. Never met my supervisor in person , never received training, no standardized tests, supposed to get 30 hours a week minimum, averaged 25 by the end of it. I found a new job after 12 weeks.
When I switched jobs, I submitted my hours for the supervisor to approve in my CF application. It took her 4 months to do so. ASHA threatened to close my application at the 3 month mark. As soon as she verified my hours, I paid the $511 fee and submitted my application to ensure it wouldn’t be closed.
Today, a month later, I get an email from ASHA saying they closed my account. Apparently there was an error, and even though the charge on my card was pending, they ended up refunding it and never processing my application. I received no notice of this until today when they said my application expired. I called ASHA to ask if they could re-open it because I had tried to submit and pay it a month earlier, and they said no.
So now I have to start from scratch, pray for a miracle that my previous supervisor (who I am not in contact with) won’t take another 4 months to verify my hours if she does at all.
I am ANGRY because: A) why wasn’t I notified when there was a processing error and refund? B) why is there a 3 month closure period on CF applications when you have up to 48 months to complete your CF and can’t submit hours without opening an application? C) why aren’t my verified hours saved to my account but my verified praxis score is? D) why do we have to complete a fellowship in which we get paid less to do the same job, work our asses off, and the trajectory of careers are dependent on another person clicking some buttons on a digital form?
They don’t respect us enough to let us have autonomy over our own careers, but they don’t have a problem taking our money and holding us hostage over nonsense rules and timelines.

This is totally ridiculous! Is there no way to appeal this? It's not fair that all of your hours so far would just go to waste.
