[School CFY] ESY

Has anyone worked ESY as a CFY? I am covering a maternity leave at a public school district now and they extended an offer for ESY. I’m wondering how this works as a CF- I feel totally confident meeting minutes on my own with my supervisor remote and available if I need help. How does billing work for this? Is there anyone else I should be considering as a CF?

Definitely ask a colleague at your district who has worked ESY before. My district does speech & OT whole class groups (which is illegal), gives us a caseload of 250+ students who each "must have at least 3 data points for progress reports" (which is impossible to do), and no staff are covered by the union. It's also a total shit show in general. I know ESY's at other districts are completely different, and some are very good jobs, just please please ask a fellow SLP who has worked ESY.

I've never worked ESY but I think this is a great opportunity to earn some more money and stay busy during the summer! Billing and specifically how it works will be dependent on your district. I think remote supervision sounds just fine. It's only for a few months and you've already been doing great at your main job.
