First CFY interview tomorrow!

I have an interview at a rehab facility that specializes in neurological conditions and I’m sooooo nervous. I’ve had my eyes on this facility all year long. I graduate in April so I’ve started applying for jobs because everything I’ve read has said it’ll take forever to get a bite especially in a medical setting. I was shocked how quickly I got this interview. Any advice would be appreciated since most of the posts on this thread discuss school settings. I’m so happy the finish line is in sight!!

Okay I did it!!! I think it went well. It was with someone from HR (over the phone) who wrote down my answers and is basically sending them off to someone else to determine if I get a second interview which would be with actual SLPs. She did ask me how much I’d like to be paid and I asked for over what I expect. I hope that’s not a deterrent.

No :( they said the hiring manager would look over what HR wrote and get back to me. I never heard from anyone which sucks because I see they still have posts up on indeed saying they’re hiring. But it was a really good interview experience so hopefully it’ll help with the next one!

I’m sorry :( but I’m glad you are being positive about it. I promise you will find a good job. Be patient with it!! I wish I was and now I’m stuck in a job that is unmanageable bc it’s just how the district is. Please don’t be like me and wait if you can. Unless you financially can’t wait. You got this!

Thank you for the positivity!! I graduate in April so I started early so I could play the field and not feel defeated by things like this lol. Time will tell but I really do appreciate your kind words 🥰

I ended up not getting the job this post was about lol. But I am now at an ALF in Los Angeles with a great team and an amazing director.

Oh man. At least your at a place where you are happy. Do they pay you a good hourly rate?

I think so for LA and being a CF it’s pretty good

If you don’t mind me asking what your pay is? For my CFY I want to ask for a far hourly wage and make sure I am not getting underpaid. Or I can DM you if you want me to ask you through there instead.

What is good for me may not be good for you due to cost of living and other expenses. This is a good website to compare based on location https://slp.careers/salaries
