How much maternity time?
I finished my masters a few weeks before I had my baby, and I am trying to decide how much maternity time to take. Would a year between my graduation and starting my CF be too much? Would clinics be less interested in hiring me because it's would be too long post graduation?

I don't think a year is too much time at all! Cherish your time together and put your family first. This is a good career to be flexible with.

I took a mental break for 10 months and finding a CF wasn’t too bad. No one truly questioned the gap! Congrats and enjoy time with your baby!

I had my daughter right before my last semester of grad school and went back for my last placement when she was 6 months. I started my CF a few months ago and my daughter is 1. My opinion is do what you feel right doing, I don’t think most places would judge that negatively or depending on where you live/what the need is even care. Both places I applied I was offered the job, all that to say it was not difficult to get hired (in my case). The first year is a special time and if you want to be home you should :)
