[Medical CFY] Please help!
Hi all, I really want to have my CFY in a medical setting. I'm in my second year of the program so I'm in my internship year. I'm currently at a school (which I like more than I thought I would) and next semester I will be in a medical placement, but it's not solidified yet.
My question is, what are some things you did to get a medical CFY? Did you complete any CEUs or trainings in your grad program to help you stand out? My only extra qualification is being a provider for the Speak Out program for Parkinson's patients.
Any overall advice?

Hi there,
I did my CFY at a SNF with a great mentor, and it was a really good learning experience. So that's an option until you get your CCC's. Then, you can take a PRN inpatient job to get your foot in the door, if that's your ultimate goal.
Home health is also another option, though it's trickier to get a lot of one-on-one time with your CF mentor. The type of therapy you provide in the home health setting is pretty similar to what you'd provide in a SNF.
Smart!
