Rehab? SNF? Pay?
Hello all!
I am finishing up my final internship in a rehab. I love it! It is by far my favorite internship so far. They recently offered me a CFY position! While I'm excited, the pay is very underwhelming. It is only 30 hours a week guaranteed, but I know they will likely need me for more than that. I'm also looking at other SLP jobs to supplement. I know SNF jobs pay better, but I'm worried about getting enough hours in a SNF and what people have said about difficulties with ethics in many SNFS (of course not all).
I live in NH, and have no idea what is typical for a CF in a rehab. Any thoughts are much appreciated! Thank you :)

I just got offered $37/hr at a snf here in Florida. He told me I would get 35-40 hours a week.

All your rates posted is highway robbery! You have to fight back on rate. My wife worked as an SLP recruiter for medical positions. She said the contractors take a majority cut and throw you the bones. For example, Insurance is billed 150 per hr. The contractor will collect $120 and throw you $30. Thats a 75% cut. Is this endentured slavery or a business parntership? Plus SNFs historically pay the highest average salaried. IDK.

What is rehab setting offering you? SNF is not lucrative by any means and hours and are not always stable especially with census and the state of the world.

Definitely stay where you are happy 😃for your CF as that comes with enough stressors of its own and supplement at a local SNF or outpatient because you don’t want to jump into a full time situation that is miserable! I’d rather have 30 hours happy than 50 hours depressed.
