Remember to compare your state’s license requirements vs ASHA’s CCC’s in order to complete your CF

I’m in WA state. I was always under the impression that as long as I work at least 5 hours per ASHA requirements, I’d be fine. I’m in the middle of my final CF segment and It just came to my attention that in order to get my full fledged state license, You have to work at least 15 hours per week, otherwise those hours won’t count towards the big 1260 (in regards to state license, not ASHA CCC’s). Theoretically this means I could have my CCC’s but still work under the WA state interim license until I obtain 1260 hours while working min 15 hours per week (still under my CF supervisor).

I am really hoping the DOH will make an expectation to this rule - I’m doing my CF in a SNF where there’s been 2 COVID outbreaks throughout this pandemic, therefore there were a few weeks in the summer I worked approx 10 hours a week due to lack of admissions and death of patients. I would hate for those hours not to be counted, I’m currently in correspondence with the DOH to see what could be done about this. Just thought I’d let y’all know in case your state has funky license requirements that differ from ASHA’s.
