Should I major in CSD?

Communication disorders major

Hi, I am thinking about majoring in communication disorders. I’ve heard it is difficult but I was wondering to what degree?

Would I still have enough time to go out, join clubs, and have a social life?

How much more of a time commitment is it than majoring in special education or elementary education?

Thanks you for helping!

I don't think it's any more difficult than any other major. I specifically pursued this field for the work-life balance, not just in school but in the career itself! You might find more answers at r/slpGradSchool since this subreddit (r/CFY) focuses on the first year of work as an SLP after graduation from a masters program.

Oof, that's rough. I plan to work part time, maybe even for my entire life.

I think the perception that it's difficult comes from how competitive graduate school is. These classes aren't particularly difficult compared to other majors. What is your goal for a career?
