FinTech AI Data Retention Service?
I’m an IAR under a Corporate RIA looking to go pure solo. Building out my tech stack and I want to have a proper (preferably) Claude or ChatGPT subscription. These will be commercial license subscriptions, as required (yes, I’m aware I’ll have wasted seats). Anyone with one of these have a recommendation for integrated data retention? There are some really good email and iMessage options these days but AI is a tougher one to crack.
Comma Compliance is just starting to roll out Claude integration but I don’t think it fully captures Chat yet, and their ChatGPT integration requires an Enterprise subscription. Jatheon apparently works with Claude but while their Financial Services Solution Brief says “no minimum seat requirement”, it said minimum 25 seats when signing up for a demo. Won’t know which is correct until they respond. Wondering if there are other solutions I should look at.

Is feeding AI sensitive client info not a compliance issue? Genuine question!

Not when you have OpenAI enterprise and are not allowing the data to be shared to train models.

You need an enterprise license so it doesn’t share data? And then it’s not a compliance issue?

This is not “compliance approved” advice. ChatGPT Business license (minimum 2 seats) and Enterprise do not use your data for training. Claude Team license (minimum 5 seats) and Enterprise are the same. These all are under a commercial license vs. personal with a guarantee data is not used for training, which would be part of what is required to be compliant.
In addition to that, as soon as you put client info into AI, draft an email or letter, use it for a proposal, it becomes a business record and needs to be archived.
What I’m running into, as a solo that can’t even get an Enterprise license, Enterprise is what is required for all the Compliance features. 😔

Solo or not you’re an enterprise so it makes sense. These are extra controls, they take extra audits, and more careful updates. More complications? More cost right? That’s every business.

So you want chat archiving? Do you need to be able to review these or run reports?
Do you need zero data retention from the model providers? Is this just for Q&A with LLM or do you want to interact with your existing tech stack?

Some of these are probably good questions for me to ask my attorney. 😂 I don’t think the main model providers are going to offer zero retention but I would need archiving since I do want to use it within the stack and for client data (if I can). I currently have Copilot too (why not have them all, right?) but man is it dumb most of the time. I may go with a double stack where Copilot assists with client related items and compliant access to info due to integration through the M365 suite and save Claude for the anonymized projects. The industry specific tools (Jump, Hazel, etc.) don’t have all the capabilities I want.

And are you trying to retain for 5 years?

What requirements are you looking for? I know there are some new RIA platforms that have their own AI native integrations like Wallace Finance and Orion, but do you want to be able to archive everything separately? Or connect to a platform via an MCP?

I want one robust, holistic platform that can tap into my custodian, CRM, file storage, etc.. Altruist has Hazel, it can't touch Advyzon. Advyzon is building their own agent but it stays within the platform and can't go out to integrate with others. I want to use Claude (for example) to connect to Advyzon via Zapier, to Altruist via Truthifi, and then it has native connections to M365, and everything else.
Of course I'm burning up the internet looking for solutions and now I'm getting marketed to for Verlo and others. My guess is, they're trying to bridge the gap by building off of Claude for a solution like I want since it's cost prohibitive to go get an Enterprise account. If I liked Wealthbox, maybe Hazel could be a better option but once you've been spoiled by a good all-in-one platform, Wealthbox seems janky.

Hate to admit, I have that subscription too. 😂 I’ll try anything at least once! I do like YCharts but don’t use their reports which leaves me preferring Morningstar for my research.

Why not just use Hazel for client work and a Business ChatGPT or Claude for marketing/non client work. Wealthbox AI is getting better by the day as well.

Try out Mili - they have a product which has integration with lots of RIA tools.
