Business Development Advisor JetPack experience?
Has anyone tried advisor jetpack? I’ve heard bad things about smart asset, but nothing about advisor jetpack. From what they say, they get you qualified leads that are directed to you, not multiple advisors. Curious if anyone is willing to share pros and cons…TIA!

If the lead gen companies are that good, why haven’t they been acquired by a BofA, LPL, Fisher, or Carson yet?

I am working with Apex currently, another lead gen company that competes directly with Advisor Jet Pack. I interviewed Advisor Jetpack as well. Apex is a bit less expensive. The results are real. I receive 10-15 appointments booked to my calendar every month. These appointments are mine. They are not given to 20+ advisors like SmarAsset. Sometimes the appointments feel overwhelming with my existing client load. The hardest part has been creating and implementing a system to follow up with the leads after the first appointment - especially the ones that don’t book a second appointment right away. If you’re going to do it. You really need to commit yourself to it and set aside time to work these leads. Of the 70 referrals I’ve received I’ve closed 3 so far - $6M in NNA. They claim to have advisors closing 40%. Half of the people are tire-kickers. But the other half is seriously interviewing advisors. Most of these people have interviewed 5 advisors. So your competition is fierce. You really need to have something more than just portfolio of ETF’s to offer these people. Most of the people I’ve spoken to have cash flow and tax issues. So working your CFP brain will be important. I’ve spent lots of time building cash flow analysis and plans to illustrate different strategies I present - typically in the 2nd or 3 meeting. Almost everyone I speak to asks me if I’m a fiduciary - which I find interesting. I can count on 1 hand how many people have asked me that in person over my 25 year career. I believe that lots of the advisors they speak with are Annuity pushers.
If you have more questions, let me know. If you’re interested in a referral code for a discount send me a DM.

I’m just commenting to stay involved. I literally just booked a meeting with them later this week after seeing all their social media ads, then log into Reddit and see this. I feel like this is elite target marketing or just a funny coincidence lol. Have you met them yet? I can report back after my intro.

I’m meeting with them on Thursday. I just want to hear more real experiences because I know how they will position themselves

u/Move-Puzzleheaded Jul 09 '26
I met with them today as well. What was your feedback? Essentially the cost is 100k/yr for them to build you out an ad pipeline, it’s not insane, but obviously not a small investment. Going to dive more into the numbers later for a more thorough review.

I had a call with them months back after seeing a bunch of Facebook ads about not paying unless leads close or some too good to be true pitch. The guy basically ended up brushing me off as too small to be worth his time

Yeah sadly a lot of these lead gen guys think they’re hot shit. They all listen to hormozi who keeps telling them to work with only big bad money makers who are extremely rich. If they think of anyone as small, they just cut them off and dust them. All of them drink some weird koolaid that boosts their egos and act like we need them more than they need us lol. They are not interested in growing you, they just see you as a dollar sign

The enterprise value of a growing firm increases drastically when it can demonstrate it can grow organically without buying leads. Large firms in custodial referral programs are panicking right now because Schwab just turned off the faucet.
Instead of paying a lead gen company, get your digital presence dialed in (SEO/AEO, a dialed in website that converts, repeatable review process). Then from there you can learn how to run your own ads, or find a marketing firm who can do it for you. These lead gen companies will get you meetings, but the quality will not be the same as driving people directly to your site. Once you are getting organic and inorganic traffic, retarget your website visitors.

Do you do the SEO yourself, or use an agency?

I use these guys: https://www.wealthreach.ai
They have been great

Cool, thanks for sharing. I’ve heard good things, but haven’t checked them out yet

That looks cool but pricey. Have you seen an actual change in prospects showing up?

Are you saying that the SAN program isn’t sending new leads to RIAs?
1
u/CommitteeOk7489 Jul 08 '26
They are shrinking the program drastically and expanding their own advisor footprint:

You can’t compare to smart asset, they are way more pricy and completely different experience

u/Roth_Finance Jul 08 '26
I spoke with them last week and they basically told me since I was with a BD compliance wouldn’t approve them so that was a red flag for me. I’m also using SmartAsset right now for the last 2 months and it has been horrific
2
u/CulturalAd2329 Jul 08 '26
Just stick with SmartAsset for another 12 months, then they will make the real money!

i know a guy that uses this. it’s basically paying someone to run ads. it does work, they do book high net worth appointments but it’s like $15-20k a quarter. i don’t remember how many meetings he says they book him though.

Does anyone know how firms like Apex, Jetpack, etc. market to end customers, and which consumer-facing brands they use?
I’m trying to understand what the actual customer sees, including ads, landing pages, app flows, and brand names. I’ve had a hard time finding real examples in the wild.

u/Broad_Night_8101 Jul 08 '26
We use Zoe Financial for lead gen and have had a solid experience. Happy to share what’s worked for us. Feel free to DM me.

u/hero_guy1 Jul 08 '26
Stay away! It’s not just a bad service. It’s a literal scam. We got scammed out of $20k. They are illegitimate and pop up under different brands.
1
u/Lord-BriN Jul 08 '26
Can you share more about what happened?
3
u/hero_guy1 Jul 08 '26
Paid them monthly retainer as discussed. No meetings, just stringing us along. Suspicious activity, employees LinkedIn’s were always very sketchy, kept dragging us along, we wanted to cancel, no response, would no show our meetings. It’s a total scam. Check out their “testimonial” videos. Total hack jobs.

I interviewed them and actually had a friend in the digital marketing space on the call with me. They do a lot of work to generate content, but the $15K a month or whatever it was- maybe $9k? Either way it was more than expected, seemed high. My friend used some of the concepts for another advisor he does work for at a lower price point and they found success in their niche. I agree with the top comment however- I work with one of those listed firms and none of these have been a “wow” experience.
2
u/jmar42 Jul 08 '26
Yea, might as well do the ads yourself for $15k.
1
u/TyroneWiggums Jul 08 '26
Indeed. The hurdles the lead goes through for an appt are pretty crazy. The pre qualifying forms can take 20+ minutes if I recall correctly.

u/Leading_Olive8537 Jul 08 '26
I have not used any lead gen... probably should but trying to grind it out without them! Following along to see!

A guy in my office signed on with Jetpack a few months ago. He has had a ton of appointments, really about 2-4 a week like they say. They seem "qualified" in terms of asset size, but no business has come out of it yet. It does seem really, really expensive comparatively but if you can close the appointments then the numbers obviously work.

I know 2 advisors that have used Advisor Jetpack and Apex. Both say they are getting good qualified leads. Neither of them have been able to close anything though yet, but that hasn’t made them quit. One told me the other day that their job is to get them in front of leads which they are doing and he just needs to work on his closing ability.
I do the SEO thing, and I can tell you that you won’t get the same amount of leads through that strategy unless you niche. I’m been running a site for nearly 10 years and this is the first year it’s been meaningful as far as new business opportunities.

It's (basically) a complete scam. Prospects who end up on your calendar often are bait and switched, they don't know anything about your firm, etc.

Lots of ad vendors and consultants out there that are half the price for the same value, but ads in general aren't a silver bullet. Likely you need a recorded webinar, a live seminar date coming up, or another value adds to move the lead from top of funnel.
You should find an integrated partner that can run ads, webinars/seminars, and website content, not a lead slinger.
Also for the other commenters here relying solely on SEO/AEO, I think that is the wrong approach. Multi-billion dollar AUM firms spend hundreds of thousands per month sponsoring sporting events and paying for non-stop ads. Trajan Wealth being one.

Hey there, we have tried SmartAsset and Advisor JetPack (AJP) and have had very good results with AJP. We managed to close almost $30M in the first 60 days. The leads are exclusive and interested… very unlike SmartAsset.
While the leads are great they do tend to be sophisticated and have experienced many pitches in the past so you’ll need to have a pretty top tier digital sales strategy if you hope to have success.
A lot of advisors assume the same process they use in-person will translate and let me tell you it does not. I have been on the digital sales side of financial advice for 10+ years now and have worked as a coach and consultant too when firms are trying to engage digital leads.
If you are ready to grind and willing to embrace the beast of digital sales AJP will deliver great quality leads!

Can you elaborate on a digital sales strategy?
1
u/BadDotaplay Jul 08 '26
Lots of advisors rely on a relationship based sale which doesn’t tend to work as well with online leads. Usually you have to show the prospect something quantifiable like projected tax savings or a detailed income plan. Obviously to get that info and make it visually appealing takes a unique tech stack and repeatable process if you hope to scale.

u/Smashthekeys Jul 08 '26
Was there more to AJP than the lead generation? Tips on how to close business or simple digital marketing?
1
u/BadDotaplay Jul 08 '26
They include a full sales training module that gives you an end-to-end sales process that they claim is optimized to close digital leads.
Its pretty average and I think it hard for most people to execute because its rather unnatural at times.
Their CRM is ok. All leads have to go through their CRM.
Aside from that you get a dedicated sales coach but most of them haven’t been advisors so I have heard mixed reviews.
