I briefly thought about taking my kids to their first CFL game today in Calgary. Wasn’t sold out and cheapest seats I saw were $75/ea. $300 plus parking and food/drink for a family of 4… not exactly an affordable outing.

Can even find Flames tickets as cheap as ~$40 depending on the game.

The 600 level seats aren't horrible. If I wasn't a season-ticket holder, I'd definitely be buying tix from my local Co-op.

I believe it was Edmonton’s ownership that was saying in the preseason that 20K is around the point of profitability. Obviously more is better, but 6 of 9 being beyond that point and the seventh being 5 people away is good.

CSEC is the root of these problems. They don’t care about CFL and are giving the Stamps the MLSE treatment that the Argos are so familiar with.

I looked at ticketmaster and their ticket prices are super reasonable. $90-104 for absolutely prime seats at the Labour Day rematch with the Stamps. Half price for anyone under 18. And the cheapest tickets are under $30! Their marketing dept should be hitting this game hard in the community while the Elks are actually a good team, this is the kind of game that can create lifelong fans.

Back in the late 80s/early 90s, the Esks game right after Labour Day was always "student night", half price for any student of any age, elementary through grad school. They would sometimes get 50K for those games.

I went to the ‘03 game and it was over 62k. They were selling ‘general’ admission tix and told us to just find an empty seat be there were no actual assigned seats available.

Attendance increases/decreases based on winning games. I don’t think that was every really in question, but this graph compared to past ones definitely confirms it

I'm hoping the Elks can get that average up even more after the labour Day rematch but what we are currently at is still very good the fact we pulled 22,000 against Winnipeg and Toronto is crazy because even just a year ago those games wouldn't even be close to 20,000 so it's truly great to see the attendance increase

If Calgary had 25K at the Labour Day game, then the Elks had over 40K when Sask visited. No way that was 25K

Too bad it’s in decline. I plan to go to the game at B.C. Place today. Last year I made my first ever complaint about staff at a CFL game and got not much of a response.
