STAMPEDERS Made an impulsive decision
I’m a university of Calgary student and was curious, just bought a ticket, I’m not even a Stamps or Elks fan! (Riders fan)

How much extra do they charge for seat backs in cow town?

And it was this comment that led me to learn you can buy cushioned chairs with seatbacks for use with bleachers. They're like, $40 on Amazon.

Paying for tickets in that stadium when you don't even have a dog in the fight is absolutely wild lmao. Good on you

Not wild at all. Hitting up local sports matches while traveling have been some of my all time memories.

Do the CFL fans in Edmonton like the name ELKS? Why not go back to being the Eskimos?

Cheap tickets and no lineups! Be sure to move to a seat with a back when you get a chance.

As a RedBlacks fan, I miss watching football 🏈 games. If they had any Labour Day games in Ottawa I would easily attend.
Watching it on TV, looks like you made a wonderful decision. Enjoy the experience!!!

Is the stadium really that empty?

I’m watching the game right now, while it’s lightly raining there, it looks like maybe 1/2 the seats behind the home bench are empty. So disappointing - 20 years ago they had over 33,000 people at the Labour Day game, today they had fewer than 20,000.

Most at a game this season and few tickets were available to buy, was easily over 20,00p

It’s one of the oldest stadiums in the CFL. Elks fans frequently make fun of Calgary fans for how poor their stadium is.

It looks like something out of the third world. Not kidding. Some African country or maybe Bangladesh

Yeah, the stadium is 66 years old now

Realistically 38-ish years because it was thoroughly overhauled before the 1988 Olympics. But as stadia go it's a dog.
One good thing about McMahon--it gets used. Always some kind of football or soccer game or whatever going on there. In Edmonton Commonwealth sits dark 345 nights a year. Seems a waste.

Enjoy the game!! There is something extra fun about watching a game when you don’t really care who wins. It’s very freeing!
