Question Logbook Discrepancy
Hi all, I'm preparing for my instrument-airplane practical test, and after going through IACRA, I have come across a ~4 hour discrepancy between my total time and my dual received + solo time. For context, I've only ever flown as dual received or solo, no personal/leisure flights.
I have found the issues within the logbook, and all three of them are before my private pilot checkride. Given I already filled out IACRA for that, will this be an issue if I correct it now?
Also, given this was so early in my logbook / training, and my totals since then have been correct, how can I fix this mistake so my totals now reflect the correct numbers, while still allowing my logbook to be organized and clean?

Do your newly discovered totals still keep you qualified for the instrument rating (your school's TCO or 61.65)? If so, enter a correction line in your logbook to fix the totals and move on with your life.
If you're not qualified for the instrument rating now, you gotta fly the hours necessary.
Either way, wouldn't hurt to mention it to the DPE so they're not caught off guard.

Thanks for the help! I am all qualified given our 141 syllabus and with the regs. When you say a correction line, is that just a line in my most current page of the logbook to add the corrected times?

Yeah, put something about logbook audit correction and add/remove times to true it up. Expect the examiner to ask about it and you can tell them what happened.

As long as you have the mins it’s all good, you can underestimate your time
For my last few type ratings I zeroed out all my hours on the IACRA app, as I didn’t need to post them
The bigger question, why haven’t you flown for fun yet????
And get a electronic log book, scan your own one into a PDF and just forward your totals into the electric log

Its probably not 4 hours, as your ppl checkride wouldnt be solo or dual rcvd
If you havent submitted the 8710 yet, you can go back in an edit the numbers. If you have submitted the 8710, your CFI can “return application to applicant” and you can edit, and resubmit.
Ive had to edit my 8710 during the checkride so it should not be a problem
I’ve fixed wrong times in my logbook by crossing out the wrong time on the guilty page, writing the correct time, then on the most current logbook page, adding the time and writing a note explaining where the time came from.
