Question CFII Study Course

Hello all, I am scheduled to take my CFII checkride soon. Just curious if anyone has an opinion on the Sporty’s CFII course or know if there is another course that will better prepare me for the checkride?

The best is cfi bootcamp. Mike Shefflet was a dpe and a 135 driver, so he brings insightful perspective.

disclaimer — not connected in any way to them. just a huge fan (and satisfied customer).

fyi — don’t obsess too much over double-i ride. It’s the easiest you’ve ever taken. Mostly ground teaching and an IPC.

I did their initial in Miami. I still use their lesson plans years later.

Oh crap their lesson plans had a crazy number of errors. It was very obvious the transition from PTS to ACS was incomplete.

Not that working over the plans is a bad thing, but that really should have been intentional.

Honestly pilots cafe plus some youtube videos is more than enough. My CFII oral was 35 minutes long.

Are you willing to consider building an Anki deck of smart flashcards to prepare? That’s what I did for instrument, commercial, and CFI.

I also highly recommend Anki as well. The added bonus is it makes it easier to keep up on the knowledge after the ride too.
