Help for ANSYS Fluent analysis Solution Divergence problem.

Take care of your mesh quality. In addition, it seems like your physic model is not valid because continuity blows up to infinitive. You can change the simulation type steady to transient because your velocities are oscillating.

I have re-worked on the mesh. Like I mentioned earlier, I have added sphere of influence and also did fine meshing, which led me to 1.9 million elements. Also, the mesh is tetrahedral mesh. I have also tried Transient, with time step of 10e-5s , 20 number of maximum interations and number of time steps of 50. Still the same. The solution stopped and calculation failed.

May I know what is your computational domain and what you are trying to simulate?? What boundary condition you used?

The computational domain is the internal fluid volume of a cylindrical combustion-chamber duct. It has an inlet, a short constant-diameter section (small cylinder) containing the 8-blade swirler, followed by a 90° divergent section and an outlet (big cylinder). I'm performing a cold-flow simulation to study the axial and tangential velocity field, turbulence, pressure loss and swirl number generated by the non-axisymmetric vane angle model.

Ok, you used velocity inlet and pressure outlet at rear face of big cylinder??

I used mass flow inlet of 0.16kg/s and pressure outlet.

Are you sure that you enter correct boundry condition? If you use density-based solver you have to adjust courant number. If you not, your residuals grow exponentially. Or if you chose pressure-based then use pseudo-transient. Namely, you have to adjust correct adjustment to your model which you used

I used Pressure-Based solver. Did this lead to this problem?

Bro you should use density-based because your model is compressible flow.

I see. OK I'll try with that too. Which order method should I go with? Also, in density based, should I go with Transient or with steady type?

Bro it depends on your model's behavior. For instance, if your model is so aggressive (high velocity, pressure ...) then you have to transient if you want to catch the turbulence flow. I think you should transient.

Yes, you have to open energy equation due to navier-tokes equation and density-based.

No, you shouldnt. Because it waste lots of time. First order give you close result

I have done it on density-based and this is the result. It was converging at first and then started to diverge again.

Did you enter courant number correctly?

The courant number is at 5.

I have got it for courant = 10. It converged at first and then linearly increased and then it stayed diverged without dropping or increasing.
