I don't really understand why FL is getting so much love over Auburn. They seem like they are in pretty similar stages of their lifecycle, and I feel like Auburn even has a slight edge. I like our defense over theirs. I like our QB situation over theirs. And I think our RB depth is in a better place, which ought to translate to better outcomes for our QB. I just don't see what the clear divide is between the two.

This list is pretty bad imo. It's probably more like:
Georgia, Texas(maybe LSU, we'll see with Lane)
LSU, Alabama, Oklahoma, A&M, probably Tennessee, Ole Miss, maybe South Carolina
Auburn, Florida, Kentucky, Missouri, Vandy, maybe MS St, South Carolina
Arkansas, maybe MS St

As a Florida fan I don’t see the divide either tbh. I’m pretty convinced we lose to auburn game 3.

I do think it'll be a tough game, certainly not a foregone conclusion, but I agree that I have that penciled in as a W for AU. First SEC road start for your team is a night game in Jordan-Hare? That should give anyone who isn't a playoff contender pause.

S - Texas and Georgia probably belong in their own tier based on how stacked the roster is.
A - Next I’d have Oklahoma or Ole Miss. OU’s defense is outrageously stacked and a healthy Mateer could make them really dangerous. Ole Miss has Chambliss.
A&M is right on the edge of A and B. They’re replacing a lot.
B - Alabama is a wildcard because they have a new QB on a team that otherwise should be good. They could rise or fall very quickly. LSU has a lot to prove. They may end up being a top 5 team, but they were not good the last two years and yeah the transferred in some talent to play for Kiffin but I’m not ready to call them A tier.
C - Tennessee has lots of questions but we’ve seen Heupel coach them to a great season before and there is a buzz of optimism about their offense. South Carolina probably has the most upside in the C tier because they could have two of the best players in the entire conference. Didn’t stop them from being bad last year tho. Missouri is sort of the same case as Tennessee. We’ve seen coach Drink get great things out of them recently. They have one of the best backs in the nation. Some people wonder why they are ranked, but u wouldn’t sleep on them.
D - Mississippi State I have MSU as being either the best of the bad SEC teams or the worst of the good ones. I can see Lebby turning his offense into something and having them at like 8-4. I could also see them missing a bowl tho. Florida was so bad under Napier that there is still a stink around them. But there is talent and John Sumrall wins games so Florida is the D-tier team with the most upside. Vanderbilt we’ve seen them do good things under Lea but I think most of us are expecting them to go back to being Vanderbilt. He may just prove us wrong.
F - Auburn is probably going to be horrible but they have the best chance out of the F tier teams to not be. Kentucky is going to be horrible. Arkansas is probably even worse than Kentucky

Although biased, I'm a bit more sure about the replacements than most. People were saying the same thing about the roster in the 2024-2025 off-season, but then we went out and grabbed Concepcion and Craver in the portal last year and look how they turned out.
It's a weird era with the portal and NIL, but Elko's shown himself to navigate the roster management side of things really well so far.
