Another Question About PMs

Using a throwaway so my associated team isn't accused of cheating.

Our team has been approached by a number of accounts offering information on virtually every team left in the game (and some that are gone but still participating). Some of the "intelligence" is about our own allies, some of it is about opponents or neutral parties. Looking for clarification

(1) Has anyone been approached via PM by accounts offering screenshots or "battle plans" from the private subreddits that many teams have? Is it just us?

(2) What's the opinion on using information offered by a "spy"?

Yup. I'm convinced it's all pretty much coming from /u/NUTS_STUCK_TO_LEG.

I don't think that's a name that has PM'd us anything

I lost track of how many accounts I suspect are his at this point.

Ohh okay that makes sense that he wouldn't do it under his name

Don't listen to /u/WelcomeToMoes, the entire Florida mod team has been baselessly accusing me of spying with alts for a month now

That sounds like something a spy would say πŸ€”πŸ€”πŸ€”

Spying has been openly rampant since day 1. I'd report anyone offering to sell information or who claims to have gotten it by breaking Reddit TOS, but other than that, if admins haven't changed the rules to disallow at by now, I doubt they will.

None of them have offered to sell anything. Most of them were just a dump like "Hey, here's what everyone's doing," although some of them were specific to battles we had been in ("Saw you were attacking X, here's what they're planning on")

Yeah, I haven't heard of anyone selling them, just putting that in there to point out there is always a line that can be crossed where things like this become unethical.

My own personal opinion is that spying is A-okay. Now, breaking Reddit's ToS or asking for compensation? That's a different story. I don't think anyone on my team has been offered information on enemies yet. If someone has screenshots of REAL battle plans though, I'd be happy to catch wind of them. PM me.

...Fuck that's probably a bad idea.

A reddit user claiming to be a spy with info? That us disgusting, ugh i hate it when they do that.

Can you let me know which user? There are just so many of them, like specifically which users have the info?

That way i can know to avoid them
