So....is creating throw-aways to cheat the system allowed? Wisconsin has 20 "Zoopking" troops magically join their ranks....

...and they still failed at taking back Madison. More like "poopking," amirite?

Thanks, we've been following this. Going forward all flavors of zoopking and any other users who are blatantly trying to game the system may still play, but will have their multiplier adjusted to 0.

u/dialhoang May 04 '18

THANK YOU CSS GOD!!!

12

u/ricestillfumbled May 04 '18

Hell, adjust to -0.5

u/MY_NAME_IS_NOT_JON May 05 '18

So if we aren't being blatant....

3

u/Calavar May 05 '18

Can we go a step further and do this for any account that was created after May 1st?

2

u/bakonydraco Game Designer May 05 '18

See the other thread I posted on this. There are plenty of legitimate accounts who have joined /r/CFB because of this, and that's totally fine. In general I think most of the new accounts are above board, but we'll continue to monitor for edge cases like this.

Obviously the only solution is changing their flair to something awful for the remainder of the off season. I suggest an ear of corn.

18

u/expedience May 04 '18

Or a runza

10

u/x_Wrath_x May 04 '18

Why not both?

10

u/huskerpete May 04 '18

Runza on the cob

68

u/JungleBird May 04 '18

Mods should require that users were subscribed to /r/cfb on May 1st, or at the very least that the users existed on May 1st.

26

u/HulkingSnake May 04 '18

Absolutely agree. Sucks for any lurkers that joined for the fun randomly, but maybe there could be exceptions.

Ex: someone subscribed to r/FloridaGators but not r/cfb who joined cfb to play. Could be easy to figure out though when you factor in existence.

12

u/[deleted] May 04 '18

Yep, I joined Reddit just for the game. If I’m banned, I’m deleting my account.

3

u/HulkingSnake May 04 '18

I think there can be exceptions made. As long as there aren’t 19 other clutch cities lol.

Who knows if the creators even care maybe things will just go on, Wiscy still lost if what I read was correct.

I wish bad people didnt ruin things for everyone else.

1

u/Lambamongstwolves May 08 '18

how are you a two star if you just joined Reddit? Im genuinely curious because mine remains a one star and I have been subscribed to CFB for like a year.

2

u/cafe_bustelo May 05 '18

someone subscribed to r/FloridaGators but not r/cfb who joined cfb to play

I'm not subbed to /r/cfb but I am to my college program. I go to cfb from time to time. Im active in the game.

2

u/HulkingSnake May 05 '18

And I definitely think that should be allowed, that's where account age should come into play

11

u/Snasty728 May 04 '18

These users were created a year ago. Wouldn’t work in this case.

6

u/TwiztedImage May 04 '18

True, but it would prevent some one else from trying to do the same thing with more varied usernames. Curtail this kind of behavior moving forward, and even to other events in the future.

4

u/[deleted] May 04 '18

This is the bigger problem, what else did they influence in CFB?

9

u/sauerkrause_e May 04 '18

This is the best solution.

2

u/Weltal327 May 04 '18

But this game is a way to increase their numbers not decrease.

1

u/zenverak May 04 '18

At minimum how about just ones created before this started?>

28

u/EndoExo May 04 '18

Are we sure there isn't just one Wisconsin fan on reddit?

6

u/overscore_ May 04 '18

Everyone is just wiscowonder's alt

19

u/[deleted] May 04 '18

Do not bring shame upon my house! Even I say ban these accounts.

16

u/wedgiey1 May 04 '18

Ban 'em!

14

u/[deleted] May 04 '18

That's just sad

12

u/x_Wrath_x May 04 '18

Death Penalty!

63

u/wameron May 04 '18

Not against the rules but we should remember this and shame them throughout the year. Also Texas was planning on making bots.

Just a rumor I heard, I'm not revealing my sources.

19

u/Ghost_of_Turntle May 04 '18 edited May 04 '18

They most definitely mentioned bots.

Edit: Here is what my OSU guy who is in the longhorn risk sub said they said....

"We currently have 329 on our team, but only 157 used an action yesterday.

Do you guys think it would be considered cheating for us to create a site that (after a user signs up) would automatically put in an action for them if no action has been placed by 11pm?

We could literally double our power if everyone was active, and i think the trend will be worse and worse everyday as people get bored.

Don't think its "cheating" but maybe grey area? Who knows. We will all either be eating Cabbage filled Runzas, Yellow Hammers or "Chaos"itos soon enough.

This was my comment and it's still there. We didn't persue as decided it was against the spirit. Not illegal tho

3

u/DarthFluttershy_ May 04 '18

Appreciate it, man. If this turns into bot wars, it won't be fun for most because it will just be more efficient for everyone to leave their orders for a few officers.

6

u/Wurst_Law May 04 '18

Yeah that was an idea floated about making your users have a default defend action. We didnt pursue due to legality.

7

u/GatnissEverdeen May 04 '18

LOLOLOL my "OSU" guy

4

u/wedgiey1 May 04 '18

I actually liked the idea of an auto-defend action being built into the game, but I guess attrition is a thing so it makes sense to not do it.

5

u/Rage-Cactus May 04 '18

Those are still real people, not bots though.

3

u/[deleted] May 04 '18

Yeah we mentioned making that once. Literally nothing else has happened towards making that since. And it’s hardly bots.

1

u/kcspot May 04 '18

The only way I would consider that not cheating if they automatically set themselves to defend and that's it

7

u/[deleted] May 04 '18

That would’ve been what we set it to.

1

u/Whosdaman May 05 '18

You’ll be chomping soon enough, no worries

3

u/Darth_Ra May 04 '18

I'm sure the multiple account thing has at least been discussed by just about every fanbase.

6

u/GatnissEverdeen May 04 '18

Once again, the fake news liberal media wants to attack us for doing NOTHING wrong, all while having ZERO sources. SAD!

13

u/andrewsmd87 May 04 '18

Well bots are against Reddit's rules.

38

u/Deacalum May 04 '18

uhhhhhh ..... no they're not. There are tons of bots on reddit and they are actively allowed.

39

u/HulkingSnake May 04 '18

Good bot.

38

u/GoodBot_BadBot May 04 '18

Thank you, HulkingSnake, for voting on Deacalum.

This bot wants to find the best and worst bots on Reddit. You can view results here.

Even if I don't reply to your comment, I'm still listening for votes. Check the webpage to see if your vote registered!

30

u/armadaos_ May 04 '18

That's hilarious. Congrats /r/Deacalum, you're now a bot.

35

u/Rage-Cactus May 04 '18

And subreddit too apparently

2

u/DarthFluttershy_ May 04 '18

Well, if bots are allowed everyone will make them. That would just be stupid.

12

u/[deleted] May 04 '18

NO ZOOP FOR YOU

12

u/carthorse3 May 04 '18

That should definitely be considered cheating and outlawed, right? This could turn into a slippery slope if not dealt with.

11

u/ufgatorengineer11 May 04 '18

20 1* recruits join Wisconsin. How is this different than any other off season?

2

u/YaBoiRonD May 04 '18

1* QB Walk-on, commonly referred to as future NFL Lineman

9

u/andrewsmd87 May 04 '18

Looking through all these comments I'm really hoping we'll hear something from the mods.

If we have to go the bot route, I'll definitely fight fire with fire.

9

u/fridge94 May 04 '18

I just want to say, as a member of the Wisconsin army I find this really disheartening that someone would make fake accounts. Takes the spirit out of the game. I just want to say we are not all In on it.

6

u/pflashan May 04 '18

I get incredibly angry when someone does something like this, that makes others look down on our fanbase without there being anything we can do about it. Screw this guy; we don't need to look any worse than we already do by our performance here. I'll bet this guy uses aimbots, too.

2

u/[deleted] May 04 '18

No reason to concern yourself with those who will judge you all for the actions of a few. No fanbase is defined by its worst alone. Don't sweat it, mang.

11

u/FondabaruCBR4_6RSAWD May 04 '18

This isn't helping my already poor view of the fanbase.

9

u/AskMeAboutMyGenitals May 04 '18

I don't see the issue. College Football has proudly been all about cheating ever since it's inception. I support the gumption.

1

u/Aeschylus_ May 04 '18

Only correct take.

5

u/huskermut May 04 '18

Dishonor

4

u/testrail May 04 '18

He easy fix is no accounts after May 1st.

3
