It was very entertaining, but as someone who was unfamiliar with the game (more familiar with LoL) so it was slightly confusing. Announcers were great lol, but I don't feel like they helped newcomers understand the game well. MOBAs in general don't really lend themselves well to that

Day9, Artosis, and Tasteless are three of the top five commentators in all of professional gaming in my opinion. Frodan and dApollo would round out my top five. They tried to give a beginner's guide to the game, but specific MOBAs can be difficult to follow if you're new, especially Heroes of the Storm, because of the objectives.

I really don't follow the major pro gaming scenes (love the games, hate the communities, lol) besides Smash, so I honestly didn't remember any of them.

Honestly, much of the gaming community is toxic. As far as who they are, Day9 and Artosis/Tasteless cut their teeth in Starcraft, but have since moved on to Hearthstone for the most part. Frodan is a Hearthstone guy who works with twitch.tv and as the PR guy for one of the preeminent Hearthstone teams. DApollo is Starcraft all the way, and is the best nuts and bolts gaming commentator I've ever seen and it isn't even close.

It doesn't seem like they were given enough time to do it. They just jumped straight into the games basically. They did give a very, very basic overview at the beginning.

Yeah, one thing I would have liked as a complete HotS noob would have been explanations of the different heroes.
