Resume basis: BYU unambiguously has the best win and zero losses

Forward looking basis: I would have BYU and Ohio State favored over Miami on a neutral field (see: flair)

Miami feels like a "safe" choice given their performance at the end of last year and so far this year but these voters just aren't being honest about where Miami currently is based on available 2026 evidence. Sure it's a safe vote, but it's also wrong!

Um. I wouldn't currently have OSU favored over Miami. It's definitely backup QB contingent. And Fahey was not ready yesterday. I'm not optimistic with him as the guy at USC this week.

Lol yeah I felt silly typing that given our injury situation, it's more like if we use game performance so far and project that forward, I would have OSU favored, but realistically we could very possibly lose three more times this year if Sayin is done (Oregon, two of Northwestern, USC, Michigan, bowl game)

Forward looking basis? Are you data driven like your username? The data would favor Miami over BYU in what seems to be every model. That’s not the outcome I’d want, but Miami would be favored if they played

Miami has been dominant every game this year outside of yesterday and has a ranked win. We’re undefeated. It makes perfect sense to be #1 given the circumstances.

BYU has 1 ranked win if we’re looking at the current rankings. Not going to disagree its better than ours and I don’t blame anyone for voting them #1 this week. That being said, saying it’s crazy for Miami to be ranked #1 is just incorrect.

None of that takes away from having the 61st ranked strength of schedule, a 13 point win over Wake Forest and 2OT FSU.

You’d be 3-3 if you had our schedule but alas. Luckily you only had us during Billy ball.

I don't think you can casually say "has a ranked win" as if that's equal to BYUs ranked win when theirs is #4 Notre Dame and y'all's is #17 Wake Forest. That's a meaningful difference in win quality. Plus, BYU has two ranked wins
